Using Scraps - Final Thoughts

I hope you have had fun this week - and gotten a ton of inspiration when it comes to using scraps!  Today I am going to go over some of my favorite projects - and a few more things you can do with scraps!!!  Lets get started:

This is probably one of my favorite layouts - because of the picture behind the layout, my grandma's dresser!  The die cuts used were from my Sizzix machine and my punches, all from my stash of scraps!  A simple layout you can do in no time, with one photo - or more!

For this layout - I simply used scraps of cardstock cut into thin strips for the border!  This is one way you can do the border with thin strips - or use larger strips if you want!  Change it up - use different colors - and try this border on a card too!!!

With the two layouts above - I used scraps for the paper piecing patterns (the flower and the books)!  Using scraps with your patterns, helps you to save money for sure...plus you can create your own patterns for your scrapbooks and cards!
**Tip - use parts of the paper behind the photos for some of your paper piecing patterns - this way the project match's what you are working on for sure!**

With the above card, I kept a piece from another project and created a fun border out of it!  I also kept the square from a die cut heart shape (from the same project) - and added it to the card for visual interest (well lets face it, and to save money too)!!!

With this last card, simple pieces left over from other projects, can create the neatest card...  I had enough of a piece of cardstock for 2 flowers and the border at the top, adding a simple vine and white embossed "thanks"!

Scraps can make fun - one of a kind projects...from cards, to bookmarks, to tags, to embellishments!  Add your die cuts, stamps, punches, ribbon, floss, brads, buttons and more...to your creativity and have your own fun creating what YOU need!  I hope you have enjoyed this week of scraps!  I am sure we will end up with more projects made out of scraps soon - so check back often for more ideas!  Plus you can see the link for the entire week's projects off to the side - simply scroll down for a ton of great links!  Thanks for stopping by,
Lynda Jeffs
