Creative Paperclay Flowers

I am so excited to bring you my very first project for you guys for my Creative Paperclay - I hope to bring you a lot of different inspiration for your scrapbooks and cards!  I love to alter things - using clay as a great 3 dimensional embellishment versus purchasing my own!  With this clay - I love how I can paint on it, and with my Radiant Pearls paint (no longer on the market) I can emboss on it as well!   With the cards I create, I use scraps left over from other paper crafting projects that I have done, making them way more cost effective than purchasing them at the store.  I used left over papers from this project to complete the red card using the other side of the papers!   I rounded the corners on the top mat - and embossed the saying on the front of the paper!  For the flower I started with the Creative Paperclay product and a mold I had for the flower.  I used Radiant Pearls paint to create the look I wanted, and though the scan d...

Blogaversary -

I started this blog back at the end of 2009 - but started to really get it going on 3/16/2010 which I consider my blogaversary since I have posted most every day since!  Memories in Tyme started as a way to help people learn how to make their own style of handmade cards and scrapbooks...and a few gifts along the way!  I really didn't know what I was doing - all I knew is I liked to create and share what I made!        Over the course of the past 3 years, my visions for Memories have went from one thing to much more!  Scrapbooking is very therapeutic taking pictures, paper and embellishment along with the written word to create a story about your life. Not only do I like to paper scrapbook, but I also like to digital scrapbook as well...there is nothing better than finding the perfect picture - having the inspiration for something, and then getting something done quickly on the computer, no mess to clean up afterwards. ...

Using scraps for card making

Organizer box - categories for cards      Making cards is a lot of fun - grabbing a quick card pack from a local craft store that has the envelopes and the card bases, add your scraps and leftovers from your layouts - and you instantly have one of a kind handmade cards!!!  Since I have rubber stamped longer than I have scrapbooked, doing both crafts makes it easy when I create, by using leftovers for things like cards, bookmarks, and even paper piecing patterns.  I have things in categories for the cards I make, however, this is my list - feel free to add to it, or change it in any capacity!   Anniversary or wedding Baby Birthday Friendship Get well Just because Notecards Sympathy Thank you Thinking of you Holidays      As I scrapbook - I put the scraps from that project in a small clear plastic drawer - and then when it gets full, I put them in an accordion style file folder separated by color.  As I am creating thin...

Card making supplies "must have's"

Making cards and scrapbook pages is not hard at all, just overwhelming with all the stuff available to you...just like scrapbooking is!  If you scrapbook you can make cards and stamp, if you stamp and make cards you can scrapbook!  The fun part of it all is the supplies that both sets of crafts gives you...that can really save you money in the long run!  I started out with stamping, designing my daughters birth announcements out of a Disney stamp, ink pad and colored pencils to color the image in.  From there, it's been all about embossing, using Radiant Pearls paint, and creating fun - one of a kind cards with what I have available to me.  I am showcasing products that are must have's in my book!  In February we are going to start with easy stamping techniques, so you will need to pick up a few "basic" supplies to get started...but remember, you want to pick up things in designs you will use, not just because they look neat.  Ad...
