More die cuts different ways!

Baby card with balloon die cuts       I like to use die cuts - this is the Sizzix balloon die cut that comes with two balloons on it - the longer one and the more round one.  Die cuts like this are great to use as they can be customized to different projects and things - the baby card could be changed to blue for a boy, or yellows and greens for a baby that has not yet arrived!        You can then take that same die cut and change it to a traditional birthday creation, such as the card that is below!  I also used the same type of papers and things on a gift bag - to keep everything matching and looking good together.  For me, there is nothing worse than presenting something and the items like the gift bag and card don't match...or at least coordinate well together!      Card with balloons and present die cuts        Die cuts like this - whether you get a machine like a Sizzix, or you get an ...

Using die cuts in different ways

I love using die cuts in my pages and cards, along with punches that are in the same type of theme, such as Grandma's Dresser layout pictured above.  I love using scraps of paper in order to make the creation truly one of a kind.  I don't like to spend a ton of money on my creations, so for me, using punches and die cuts help to make things a lot better for your money!        By using buttons, punches and die cuts together, you see how truly unique this type of look can bring you - just by using different colors of die cuts that match the layout you are creating.  I also used alphabet stamps to create the title, embossed in Silver in order to match the eyelets in the corner.  The colors of the flowers are all different, only using scraps for what I did.        For the card here,  you can see I used the same die cut as in the above layout, only for a basic note card instead!  I used bright colo...

Christmas in July Blog Hop 7/22 – 7/25      Welcome to my first ever Memories in Tyme Christmas in July blog hop!!!   After going to my first blog hop recently, I knew I needed to host my own hop this month for people to start to look at Christmas!  The economy is hard right now, what better way to save money by making wonderful things for your friends and family instead of spending a ton of money you don’t have!  Plus if you spend a bit of time and money each month, things will not be so hard at the end!  Everyone has been working really hard on things this month, and we all hope you enjoy all the fun ideas we are sharing with you!!         Participants are:  Lynda:  http://memoriesintyme.blogspot.com/ Kimmarie  -   http://kimmarieskorner.blogspot.com/ Kari -  http://purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com/ Elsa -   http://www.justafewdesigns.blogspot.com/ ...

Monthly reminder post

Monthly event planner It's that time again.....time to look at the upcoming events that you have in your life for the next 6 weeks...   Whether you have birthday's, weddings, showers, or fun summertime events planned, grab your calendar and start to look at what you need to make, purchase, send off, or what have you!        Our economy really stinks right now, I've been living it for a long time... and learned a few things along the journey until now.  Take time to look at what you have going on so you can get started on things early - instead of at the last minute...  Start to look at the calendar for things you need to deal with until the end of August!  This way, you can start getting things you need to - put together in order to get things completed on time!   My main problem in life - (I am so like my mom) - I procrastinate - and pretty soon, what I "wanted" to do - doesn't get done because I didn't spend the time to ge...

Holiday Happiness

When it comes to Christmas - do you painstakingly take time in each and every small detail, from the parties, to the gifts, to the cards you send out each year?  I know I don't...and each year, the gifts either aren't finished in time, or they don't get sent, or I just didn't get along with my family enough to be able to send them much of anything - you get what you give or so they say!  This year - I am spending time THIS MONTH in making some of the things I need for that fun event...and planning the cards I want to do, the mini album projects, and the gifts for people...all to make this years Christmas a funner one than last years was!   From a fun framed page that is customized for everyone, to the cards I send out... each item is being made with love, detail and attention!          In this layout, I used darker colors of red and green, with bits of gold for the accent color, and a bit of ivory to make it all pop....

Christmas in July

With Christmas here in less than 6 months - this month will be spent sharing with you card ideas, a few layout ideas, ways you can give gifts, as well as gift ideas you can give to your friends and family.  Times are hard right now for everyone, spending the time making a one of a kind gift for someone not only helps the pocket book, but also helps when you have a lot of things you can use already - just stashed away!  Plus when you make a present for someone, it is truly a gift from the heart made specifically for that person!        Through out this month I will be giving you reminder posts - to start to look at what you need to purchase, parties you need to plan for, baking you need to do, or even gifts you need to make.  That way - you are not caught at the beginning of December having to figure out what you need or want to make, but not having enough time to do it all!  I am sure some of you already do a bit of thi...

Using stamps in your projects

When I first started "creating", it was with rubber stamps and making cards - my first project was my daughters birth announcements almost 21 years ago.  I collected a boat load of stamps I just thought I needed...(and haven't used much), as well as cardstock, patterned paper, books, and what ever else I could find.  Scrapbooking was not much better - collecting every supply known to man kind, but not knowing what to do with all of the stuff I had bought in the first place.  I really thought God had a contest going on - 'she who dies with the most scrapbook or rubber stamps WINS', buying everything instead of learning what to do with all of it!!!        Sometimes creating is all about playing around to achieve a certain "look" and feel for the project...other times it is all about taking that sketch and making sure your project is perfect - depending on the project itself.    When I first started stamping I struggled with...
