Scrapping With Lisa Designs - Design Team Project

For my project today - I wanted to do something that had more "hidden journaling" because of what I wanted to write down...  My kids are my life...and the underneath part was the " Don't Judge " me girl from Lisa's Designs which you can find by clicking the link on!  Lisa's designs are so versatile - using them for a card, or a scrapbook type of layout like this one!   My project is going to be a framed page - without the glass in the front so you can lift up the front piece and see the hidden journaling part!  I love using paper piecing patterns, and this one is no different!  I'm going to do a fun birthday card using her - with a present in her hand and maybe strings with a balloon or something!

Independence Day card idea

Independence Day is coming up - this is a cheap and easy card idea - using scraps of paper, your computer (or stamp) for the background, and a paper piecing pattern for  the top.        Starting with your card base, I created mine in red, with what was left over from  my words.  I then matted it in white, and blue, with the red on top again.  Create a  large heart, keeping the top part of the heart in blue, with strips of paper for stripes,  and a  star punch for the stars on the blue.  Very easy card to recreate...           So, in honor of Independence Day - this week I will be showing you a few project ideas for you to enjoy and recreate for your Independence Day festivities!  Make sure you check out my BBQ idea shown here for a fun BBQ page idea...  There will be a couple of album ideas, as well as more cards!  Enjoy your week -  Lynda Jeffs Memo...

Paper Piecing

Using a paper piecing pattern to create a one of a kind look for your pages and cards does not have to be hard.  You take the "pattern" ( which can be anything from a free pattern downloaded from the internet, one you purchase, or one you make yourself out of a coloring book or drawing.    If you do not have any patterns but are wanting to try something, check out the endless list at Scrapbooks Etc.  in their printables section.   In the above sample, I used a part of a pattern I had to be able to create the "books", and simply used a black, fine tip marker to finish up the look.   Take a look at what is available to you online, or parts of the patterns you already to have to find that perfect pattern for your items.  In this example, I had to create a book for the main photo and also for the little books on the bottom.  They are raised by using Glue Dots adhesive products (check them out) to make them pop.  I drew out the lo...
Can you tell I like to read?    All kinds of books from self help books, craft books, love stories, and school books…I love to read! For me, I started to read when I was just a little girl, going to the library with the “twins”! I would go home with a ton of books to read, going back to the library for more.  This sparked a love for reading that now, has sparked a love for writing!  This layout is also the first time I actually wrote on my photos! I don’t normally do things like that, but in this layout, it turned out wonderfully! I wanted to showcase the different types of books that I read! The colors I used also are pleasing to the eye, blue, wheat and cream! I love how the titled turned out, with the words, and the hearts for the “love” part spreading across the two pages! The bottom layer is a wheat color, paired with the blue and cream, which makes a beautiful color choice.  (One that is in My Creative Companion book in my own section!) This ty...
