More Birthday Cards

If you scroll down after you read this post, you will see the first post, which has 3 different style of birthday cards!  I had a lot of fun creating - in fact, I think the cards I am sharing today - might be some of my personal favorites!   When it comes to purchasing stamps, I will absolutely tell you to NOT buy everything you see and you like.  Now, if you have the money to purchase what you want, then do so!  If you are on a budget, and have to watch what you spend, I have a few tips just for you! Do not spend a ton of money starting out - try to refrain!  When you do shop - will you be able to use the stamp for more than one use OR at the very least, more than just one time?    When it comes to saving money, use scraps of paper for your matting, punch pieces, stamped sayings (such as below) and paper piecing patterns!  The smallest of pieces go very well when you are creating a card or tag!  Try to make a card or two when you a...

Birthday Cards

So, I decided at the end of last year, that I wanted to make a few birthday cards to send to my friends and family members on their special days, and have them done BEFORE their day!  However, at the time I want to send them, either I don't have one made, or the time just escaped me to create the perfect one in order to get them in the mail!  Oh and lets be perfectly frank here - I really had an attitude towards some people, so why make a card that isn't appreciated!  (You make them and send them to the ones who DO appreciate it!) I also recently got into Stampin' Up, more for the discount than to sell - only.. . it is the selling part of things that is the most fun right now!  To see the looks on people's faces when they get the product in their hands and create that "one thing" that sparks their interest even more that is the most fun to see!  I purchased this set here - and had such a fun time in creating a few cards for my own personal stash!   I st...

Birthday Card Challenge - Are You Ready?

I started to look at what I have for birthday cards for my own personal use, and was not too happy with what I seen!  I have plenty of cards to sell, but nothing for me to send out to friends and family, let alone those birthdays that you just find out about!  Thus, this challenge, LOL which is more for me to get stuff done than for you!  I will probably be creating a few other birthday related items while I am at it, and sharing through the month, so check back for sure!  Lets get started: Get things put together you want to create with, such as the stamps, punches, die cuts, and anything else you have - all placed in one area (see photo). Look at the items you have for inspiration such as Pinterest, blogs, catalogs, ads...and start to form links and sketches to help you to create.   Make a list of birthday's you have that you want to send cards out to this year.  As you look at your list - is there a time that you are especially busy with ...

Birthday Card Challenge

I am a procrastinator...not sure where I got it from, but I take my time in getting things done!  I hate that about myself too...  So, to change that (one of my intentions for next year) I decided to spend some time in making birthday cards for my own friends and family for next year!  I don't want to have to worry about not having a birthday card to mail or give away!  Some will be customized to the recipient, others...just ready to go if I need one!   Your challenge for today: Start to make a list of cards you want to make and for whom.  If you have a specific example for someone, sketch it out or link it up somehow! Get the supplies you need to create your cards available in one place.  Find the background papers, get the cards ready to go and folded!   Start to look at examples of cards you want to make and sketch them out or link them up!   I have a lot of birthday's this year...and no matter what, everyone will...

Birthday Cards -

One of the best buys for me scrapbook wise - was my Sizzix die cut machine, that little red beast is just the BEST thing for me!  I have had the same die cut shapes for the machine, for longer than I can remember...since living in Utah!  I moved to California - and my little beast broke...ended up having a wonderful scrapbook buddy send me 2 of hers!   The two shapes I end up using for tons of things - my presents, and the balloons!  They have saved me more money than I can count - and time from having to cut out individual items!  With the balloons, simply add a stamped saying, or - a rub-on!  I have used black twine for my strings, as well as floss.  I have also used a fine tip black marker, and created the strings in black - being able to customize it a bit easier!  I also used scrap papers for the cards!   With the present die cut - you can see the many times I have used this particular die cut, for birthdays as well as Christmas...

Last Birthday Card - Karson's

Okay but this little guy is just the cutest baby I have EVER seen!!!  I'm a little biased being one of his "nana's"...but he is pretty damn cute if you ask this one!!!  It's nice getting along with Megan's mom - and getting fun pictures posted for us on Facebook since we don't live where they all do and all!  Karson is our youngest grandson, Megan's 4th (and last) child!   Since he loves Thomas the Train, my husband decided to get him this fun little train for his first birthday - it lights up and talks and everything!!!  His birthday card, was so much fun for me to make - using the cupcake punch by EKSuccess - in more "boy" colors, and since he turned one, he got "one" cupcake!!!  A simple happy birthday punch off to the side, with a scrap of striped paper for the background!  This was a more simple card to do, but turned out cute with the colors I used!   The best thing about using punches and stamps - you can customize each...

Another Darling Birthday Girl/Card Idea

This is little Brooklyn, she just turned 3 the end of August!  She was just a baby when we drove through Utah, so we have watched her grow up through pictures rather than being there face to face which is really hard.  Brooklyn is really smart, she knows how to take pictures on their tablet and post them to Facebook!!!  She idolizes her sister Kali, and usually when you see one of them - you see the other one right behind, except when Kali is in school that is!   The best thing I love about this little beauty - is her smile!!!  I am glad her mommy has such a great person to watch the kids while she works, their grandma - Megan's mom!!!   At least I know the kids are loved, and not just watched by some stranger!   No longer the "baby" of the family, Brooklyn has a little brother that just turned one!  You can see Karson and his Thomas the Train present and his birthday card I made tomorrow!!!  The dolls for the girls - totally picked out by my...

More Birthday Card Idea's -

Now this little beauty is Kali...  Kali just started kindergarten and turned 6 in September! She is such a little diva - I just love her to pieces!  On our visit through Utah - I had a pair of flip flops on - white...only they were really dirty as I hadn't been able to buy a new pair before visiting everyone.  She looked at my shoes and freaked out because they were so dirty!!!  Her mom was getting rid of some shoes - came back and gave me a pair...  Every time I wear those flip flips - I laugh because of Kali!!!  Can't bring myself to wear the dirty ones anymore!    Kali used to have really long hair, but when she went to school...wanted it cut short like the other girls' was!  We had went to the store to pick out presents - I went down the Barbie isle - Del said absolutely not... he wasn't giving his granddaughters no stupid Barbies!!!  So I let him pick out what he wanted - and he found these dolls...  Oh my hell - both girls LO...

Birthday Card Idea - With A Challenge

I had a 3 day weekend recently...and had to get a few VERY LATE birthday cards done, and the Halloween can & cards I shared the past couple of days!!!  They needed to get in the mail, and sent when we actually had money to send them!  I totally love how each of them turned out, and you now get 4 days worth of my cute grand-kids and their birthday card I made for each of them!   Now, this is Braxton...  He is the oldest of 4 kids, and the oldest grandchild!  When he was younger, he would come over to our house when we lived in the same area,  I discovered he ate Oreo cookies just like his Grandpa Del!  Being just a little guy about 18 months old, he would eat the middles, and then he would stick the cookie part under his butt...when he stood up - there was all these cookies...minus the middles!  That has been the funnest memory I have of him and being just like my husband!!!  Braxton has 2 little sisters and a little brother!  ...

Its my birthday and I'll scrap if i want to, scrap if i want to. you'll scrap too when we're all thru. I have asked a special group of scrappy friends to join me in celebrating my birthday with a blog hop .You are going to find a ton of inspiration among this talented group!  Here I am celebrating another birthday and turning a year older. I don't know if that is a good thing or not , but let's just celebrate and enjoy the day. If you came from Sher then your in the right place. If you just happened at my place please start at the beginning with Rhonda   so you don't miss a thing. On to my project shall we.. I started by making cards, first by stamping them - and then by using scrapbooking supplies along with stamps to create one of a kind cards to give my friends and family!  I also use scraps - because it makes more sense to make a card with what is available, instead of whipping out a fresh sheet of cardstock every time I want to create a new ca...
