Creating During The Pandemic (And beyond) Tips And Ideas

Tips and Ideas   None of us planned on this whole pandemic thing...we sure didn't plan to be stuck at our homes with nothing to do for over a month!  I wanted to give you a few ideas to spend time creating while you are cooped up, using what you have already bought and have available!  Let's get started!!! Spend time as a family creating layouts from past events!  Sometimes others will remember things we don't, or at least we get things from their perspective as well as our own! As you are creating projects, find photos that can tell more than one story, or that tells a different side to the event or photo!  Maybe a photo where you have a picture of something (a person, or food lets say)... it goes with other photos in the event.  The same picture could be used by itself telling a whole other thing, using the food - maybe your favorite food.....that kind of thing! Have each of your kids (if they are old enough) do some sort of a scrapbook of their...

Products Used This Week

Products I used on the projects this past week  I use a lot of different products on the things I make - and yet, I end up using the same things over and over at times!  You will have your favorite "go-to's" when you create, just don't forget to look outside the box as well!!!  Things like floss and ribbon, used for other things, can be used with your paper crafts as well!!!  Let's get started! Products Die cuts The die cuts I have right now, I have used for 18+ years that I can remember!  It was the best investment instead of cutting the shapes out by a template!  That is great and cost effective if you are just starting, but if you are going further, you need access to a good die cut machine!  I personally use Sizzix and Cricut, I will have reviews for both of them coming up!  Make sure you check back next month for those!  Best thing with the die cuts, you can use them over and over with different papers and themes, an...

Sympathy Card Idea

Sympathy Card Sympathy cards are never any fun to make, given the reason you are making the card in the first place!  I finally found a stamp set I love to use that allows me to create a lot of different cards with one set, including sympathy cards!!!  Stampin' Up is my favorite place to purchase stamps and ink pads as they have quality products, in a ton of themes!!!!  I am sure you will find what you are attracted to, from stamps to ink pads... no matter what company you end up going with!!!   Supplies used: Sympathy stamps Ink pads to match paper used Card w/envelope Various flower die cuts Vine w/leaves die cut Large sun punch Small sun and circle punch Border punch Papers (I used Stampin' Up) As I start my cards, I usually pick out more than enough stuff to create with, supply wise I mean - such as: Papers I want to work with Stamps I want to use for the project Any ink pads to match the papers  If ...

Using Corner Punches For Tags

Using Corner Punches For Tags With today's idea, I was playing around with my supplies, needing to do a few sympathy cards..... and this is what I ended up with!!!  I will share the finished idea tomorrow, but the tags can be done for various themes and sayings, so it deserves a post all it's own!!!  I have a lot of supplies I have had for over 20 years, and some more like 25+ years that I still use to this day!!!!!  This is one thing I have used over and over again, only different ways!  It makes the cost for that supply, actually save you money in the long run, every time you use it on a project!!!!  Sometimes, it pays you to buy it the more you use it!!! Supplies needed: Corner Punches Cardstock Stamps Ink pads Paper trimmer  Directions: Decide what type of a tag you want to create.   Find the stamps you want to use. Pick out the ink pad that will match your cardstock. Stamp your saying giving you more than enough room...

Mom's Recycled Drink Holder

Mom's Birthday Present This is one of those special projects, created for my mom's birthday!!!  I wasn't too sure what to do for her this year, it was her first birthday since being back home... gone for 12 years!!!!   I wanted this present to be special and fun at the same time!!!!! Supplies used: Coordinating cardstock and papers (I used 6) Sizzix die cuts, I used balloon and present for this example Hot glue Pop dots Twine for balloon strings  Recycled drink holder from a fast food restaurant (85) Directions: Start by die cutting the shapes you are going to use for your creation!  I ended up doing way more shapes than I needed to for this project!  However, it will help me make a few cards to go in my stash!!! Add the twine to the balloons, set aside for the moment!!! If you have presents, get them put together!  If you don't have a die cut present shape, create your own presents with scrap paper and a bow! Start to...

Recycle Everyday Things When it comes to doing paper crafts, you can make a lot of neat one of a kind gifts for your friends and family!  Look at everyday things that you would normally throw away, and see what you can create out of it!!!!   Things you can recycle: Cans - these beauties can be used for so many different things!   A pencil (or anything) holder for one, great to hold smaller like items in!!  Larger cans such as coffee cans, make wonderful present (of any type) holders!  You can put a lot of stuff in one coffee can!!!!   Cover them and add plants to them!!!  Decorate and use in the bathroom, kitchen or office!  Put markers in them, crayons, colored pencils even and add to a kid's art table!  Use for your creative storage, changing the colors as you need to!!! December Thoughts and Plans

I'm not sure about you guys, but wow, I can't believe it is December already!  I'm not sure how it all happened, but here we go, almost in to a new year!  This post is a bit of everything - from planning to reflecting...of course "Memories in Tyme" style!   If you celebrate Thanksgiving, what did you think of the date this year?  I don't remember when it was this late in the month, and not sure I like it being this close to Christmas!!!  Yet this year, was more of a special year, first time around my family in 12 years!!!  Challenge or two to document this years events: What are YOU grateful for this year? What did YOU do this year - and who did you spend it with?  If you are one of those "planner folks" - grab your planner and sit down and lets get to work!  If you aren't - get whatever YOU like to plan your life with and lets get started!  Look at the next 6 weeks or until 1/15/2020 for what you have going on Next look at ...

Buying Handmade Cards

I have made cards for 29 years now!  I remember my first project, my daughter's birth announcements made out of cardstock and a Disney stamp!  How ironic she loves Disney stuff - even now!   From that first project until right now - I love making cards!  All of my cards I make are one of a kind!  A lot of times I can't create the same thing twice even IF I use the same supplies on both projects!  Each order will come with a free gift as well!   Cards are sold as follows: Individual cards - $3.00 each  5 - $12.50 10 - $25.00 15 - $37.50 Box of cards 20 - $40.00  (no box, 22 cards instead) We have different themes available - pick what you want and need! All cards are one of a kind, no two are alike for the most part!  I try to do each one a little bit different if I can, by placement or details!  If you are looking at more custom work, let me know and we will come up with a good price!  Cards you have to cho...

UNSTOPPABLE WARRIOR

I've known Kris since high school - we never hung out or anything, but I knew who she was!  Little did I know what she was going through behind the scenes - away from school!  Fast forward to Facebook - LOL but a bunch of us from high school are friends!  Really nice way to connect with past friends, and make new one's as well!   I reached out to Kris - she had posted something on Facebook...  I was going through a really hard time with a few things...and needed help!  Something told me she was the person I needed!  She had a 21 Day Challenge she was starting, so she "gifted" it to me!  It came at the PERFECT time, let me tell you!   Kris' challenge  - well, it truly has done a LOT for me personally... It got me to get out of my comfort zone - put myself out there a bit more. She taught me that I could do ANYTHING I put my mind to. She taught me to work hard at what I DO want, and not let anyone tell me otherwise. It has h...

For last year - I still have to go back through my Facebook account - my emails - and my photos on my phone, in order to document some of the things we did... NOT...

A Simple Update

LOL but we all know how challenged I am with time - how things just simply don't get done like I really want them to!  Right now, I am working more on getting things made to take to an event, than I am making things for myself!  Between that and the planning things out, things are simply just NOT going the way I want them to go for this blog!  Plus I am getting the web site planned out - so way more is being done on that end of things, than in creating for myself to be able to share things with you! I will have a fun blog post up on the Creative Paperclay Design Team blog tomorrow, tips working with Delight and Creative Paperclay products!  I also have a fun notepad holder made out of Delight product - you can check out the post here , and then check back tomorrow for my tips!!!  Fun product to work with for sure!      So - that said, I will be having some online classes ready to go the next month to start up in April!  Stampin' Up has wond...
