Girlie Girl Hop

Welcome to the Girlie-Girl Blog Hop, where all things girlie girl will be seen. Each person has their own interpretation of what girlie girl means so this hop should be fun. Lorby's World is our hostess for this hop so please begin the hop at her blog:  http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com/  and continue through from there. Lorby will be giving away a $10 gift card to winner's choice of Michael's or Joann's. Rules to be in the drawing: 1. Comment on all the blogs. (These ladies have put a lot of time and effort into their projects so show them the love.) 2. Become a follower on Lorby's World blog. Sweetness right side  Sweetness left side  This is Terra - my daughter who is almost 21!  The dress is something special my mom made for her - her "Christening Gown" you might say!  The layouts originally started with an Ad Challenge from an old scrapbooking web site I used to belong to!  I loved the challenges and message board aspect of th...

Fun news - and a challenge

I started scrapbooking around 13 years ago or so, my first project - was my 2nd wedding album!  My first stamping project was my almost 21 year old daughters' birth announcements - so I've been around a while now!  I decided to start Memories in Tyme to show people how easy it is to create.   I am now certified to teach through EK Success' Spotted Canary program, as well as now teaching at Michael' s Arts & Crafts at a local Denver area store!  I am excited to say the least, and can see all my hard work starting to pay off - especially since being here in Colorado!        Now - if you are expecting something from me in the mail - I am really behind right now!  Life has just thrown me some interesting curve balls, in which I am trying to figure out how to deal with them!  I am also in school full time, plus started a new job...Life for me is just nuts, and things that needed to get done has NOT been done! ...

Christmas in July Blog Hop 7/22 – 7/25      Welcome to my first ever Memories in Tyme Christmas in July blog hop!!!   After going to my first blog hop recently, I knew I needed to host my own hop this month for people to start to look at Christmas!  The economy is hard right now, what better way to save money by making wonderful things for your friends and family instead of spending a ton of money you don’t have!  Plus if you spend a bit of time and money each month, things will not be so hard at the end!  Everyone has been working really hard on things this month, and we all hope you enjoy all the fun ideas we are sharing with you!!      Participants are:  Lynda -  http://memoriesintyme.blogspot.com/ Kimmarie -  http://kimmarieskorner.blogspot.com/ Kari -  http://purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com/ Elsa -   http://www.justafewdesigns.blogspot.com/ Anita- http://www.anit...
Front and back cover Easter..... what a fun time of year, spring is starting - there is just a breath of fresh air, and things are starting to turn green and pretty!   To me, Easter starts the time when you spend a lot of time outside or with families!  This is a very easy project you can do before then - adding your pictures to it, and a bit of journaling about the event itself!   Or make a few for your family members, for them to put photos in as well, this way everyone starts to showcase fun times in their families lives - even if they don't scrapbook themselves.   Pages 2 and 3 Pages 4 and 5 Supplies needed:                                          5 sheets of 12 x 12 cardstock Cardstock for matting photos Sticker sheet in Easter theme Brads Ribbon Buttons Hole punch Pages 6 and 7 Pages 8 and 9 Directions:  Step one:   Take the 12 x ...

Always Remember

My mom sews... and I mean designs Blessing Dresses (Christening gowns, depending on the religion you are in.....) like you wouldn't believe!  My daughter Terra's dress is one of a kind...but she does that with everything she does, changes some aspect of the dress to make it unique.   I get that from her...being able to take things and create it on paper instead!  Sometimes when you scrapbook, you find photos that you want to showcase...it should be about the photos, not the embellishments you use.  I've said it before, and I will say it again...after you are gone, and your family has your pages and albums...they are not going to look down at a special page and say "Oh, this paper wasn't a new style when she created this"!  The reason I say this is because it's truly about the memories, the feelings you felt when those photos were taken in the first place, not the embellishments you use on the layout.  When I decided to make this layout, I wanted ...
Mini albums the easy way If you don't have a lot of money to spend on a traditional "album", this is Memories in Tyme's easy version of a cheap scrapbook album!  All you will need is 5 sheets of 12 x 12 paper or cardstock and also colors to match, stickers or die cuts, ribbon, buttons, or whatever!     This is page 2 and 3 of the mini album.  I used brads, and markers around the edges, and stickers matted.  The entire album was easy to create, using what was available to me.  This is page 4 and 5 of the mini album, again, using stickers on the bottom, only this time I added buttons for the middle of the flowers to create a bit of dimension.  This is side 6 and 7, so you can see the pattern of the album.  I used stickers, brads, ribbon and a button, with a bit more color around the edge with a marker.  As you put the album together, each of the 2 pages are back to back.  I use a hotglue gun to glue the pages back to back,...
