This is one of those projects that just was in my head...no inspiration for it, I just woke up with it.....  It was suppose to be for the last Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame contest that was going on - I had gotten a bunch of layouts done, and you needed to do a mini album project...this is what came up from that!!!  Now, if you seen this project ...the inspiration came from this album...not just the colors, but the inside of the album as well.   Allison wanted something that didn't have a lot of foo-fla...just because her album would be in her purse!  This album is placed in a basket with other projects I have done...so I could have all the foo-fla I wanted!!!        Lets get started with the supplies and directions!!!   Supplies:   Brown paper Inside front cover Pink paper Ivory paper  Various stamps (hearts) Stamp pad Embossing powder Heart die cuts Alpha stickers and rub on's (or stamps)...

Christmas in July day 3

Christmas elf mini album       Welcome to my first ever Memories in Tyme Christmas in July blog hop!!!   After going to my first blog hop recently, I knew I needed to host my own hop this month for people to start to look at Christmas!  The economy is hard right now, what better way to save money by making wonderful things for your friends and family instead of spending a ton of money you don’t have!  Plus if you spend a bit of time and money each month, things will not be so hard at the end!  Everyone has been working really hard on things this month, and we all hope you enjoy all the fun ideas we are sharing with you!!  Page 2 and 3       Participants are:   Lynda:  http://memoriesintyme.blogspot.com/ Kimmarie  -   http://kimmarieskorner.blogspot.com/ Kari -  http://purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com/ Elsa -   http://www.justafewdesigns.blogspot....

Monthly reminder post

Monthly event planner It's that time again.....time to look at the upcoming events that you have in your life for the next 6 weeks...   Whether you have birthday's, weddings, showers, or fun summertime events planned, grab your calendar and start to look at what you need to make, purchase, send off, or what have you!        Our economy really stinks right now, I've been living it for a long time... and learned a few things along the journey until now.  Take time to look at what you have going on so you can get started on things early - instead of at the last minute...  Start to look at the calendar for things you need to deal with until the end of August!  This way, you can start getting things you need to - put together in order to get things completed on time!   My main problem in life - (I am so like my mom) - I procrastinate - and pretty soon, what I "wanted" to do - doesn't get done because I didn't spend the time to ge...

Happy Independence Day mini album idea...with another challenge!!!

July 4th album      Independence Day can mean different things to different people - depending if you are a native of the country, or if you came here from another country and never really left!  I know being born and raised in Utah - their huge day is July 24th, instead of Independence Day... more for religious reasons than anything, but they do celebrate the 4th, just not on that "big" of a level.  Living in Canada - you have their huge day on July 1st...and I am sure other countries celebrate their own type of "day" as well, depending on where you are from.   Album standing up with ribbon binding       So - the challenge for you (before the idea) is for you to put down in either a layout, or a mini album - anything relating to Independence that you would like.  Since I don't do much with family on this day, then I am planning on doing a project about what being "independent" means to me...something that can go with my A to Z ab...

Monthly reminder

It's all about remembering the events in your life...  Each month I will send you a monthly reminder to look at the events and things that you have coming up this month.  Do you need a special gift, birthday cards, or an anniversary card to make or buy?  Make sure you look at your list of dates and put them on your calendars!   I know for me, I don't have much of anything in January, but my sons birthday is February 3rd, so I would put this on my list for this month, but the other birthday we have on February 24th would be in Februarys list as well as Valentines day.  However, I do like to get started on things early, so I will probably start to look at designs and cards now for this!  You can also look at the events for the next 2 months if you'd like, to be able to fit everything in that you would want to!  Then in February look at March and Aprils events....or you can do 6 weeks at a time.....do whatever is easier for YOU persona...

Christmas Ideas

Christmas does not have to be expensive for people...take these altered notebooks for example.  You can pick up a notebook on sale at just about any office place, Walmart, or $1 store right now...  Look back on the archives for directions on how to make them!  I also like to add a bookmark (also see below for directions on how to make), a pen, and a book or gift certificate to go with it and you are done!  Each person could get a different book, depending on what it is they like, or might be going through personally!  If you go to http://www.simplystacie.net/ you will find great books in just about every topic you can imagine done by her team of book reviewers!                                                  ...

Christmas in July

Christmas time should be a happy time for everyone, not a time for stressing out...yet year after year, I end up not doing anything...in fact the past few years for me Christmas has just been another "day".  This past Christmas was the first time we were able to actually get presents for each of us here at the house...and send to the other kids too!  This year, I am starting early...no more of this waiting until the last minute to do things!  Your challenge this week is to make sure you are looking at that day, make a list...and start to look at parties and things as well.  Do you need to plan out a party, or just a create a special dish for one?  Do you have parties that EVERY year you can depend on going to, a family event, or a friends Christmas party?  Make sure you write that down too!  This will be the first year I actually have a party for my friends that live close to me!  I am excited to plan dinner out, and plan a night where everyon...
Mini albums the easy way If you don't have a lot of money to spend on a traditional "album", this is Memories in Tyme's easy version of a cheap scrapbook album!  All you will need is 5 sheets of 12 x 12 paper or cardstock and also colors to match, stickers or die cuts, ribbon, buttons, or whatever!     This is page 2 and 3 of the mini album.  I used brads, and markers around the edges, and stickers matted.  The entire album was easy to create, using what was available to me.  This is page 4 and 5 of the mini album, again, using stickers on the bottom, only this time I added buttons for the middle of the flowers to create a bit of dimension.  This is side 6 and 7, so you can see the pattern of the album.  I used stickers, brads, ribbon and a button, with a bit more color around the edge with a marker.  As you put the album together, each of the 2 pages are back to back.  I use a hotglue gun to glue the pages back to back,...
