Week of scraps - with a challenge

When I use my scraps, sometimes I might not have the specific color I want to use in a "scrap".  Take these two projects for example - the background on the bookmark is a different blue than the blue on the background of the card is.  However, both work well!  Simple flower die cuts on the bookmark - and Madge on the card!  I simply chalked Madge - and added a simple saying to the top of the creation!  This card I can picture sending it to a friend, planning a day to spend together - or meeting up at Starbucks to catch up on old times!
Using scraps on your projects - truly makes the card you send out be one of a kind as you won't ever get that paper back again!   I look at how the paper lines have grown over the past 10 years - into so many different styles, textures, colors and brands you can't even begin to name them all!  Every year the paper changes - so you pick up what you like when you find it - cause it might not be there again!!!  I know I made a darling gift for my sister - a framed page.  I had just bought the paper on a whim because I liked it - but had no clue what I was going to do with it.  Her project just clicked together with the first piece of paper and the thought!  Much like the scraps used on these projects - left over from other projects
Now for the challenge part - if you don't save your scraps, I will challenge you to find a good system and start to save them.  I use a simple file folder by color system, kept in an accordion style holder.  If you keep scraps already, then I challenge you to look at what you have and make one thing with your scraps and what you have at home!  If you love to read books, make a bookmark - or, make a birthday card for an upcoming birthday!  I hope you start to enjoy scraps as much as I love to use them - and make sure you share what you have made!
