Another monochromatic layout - with a technique challenge!!!

dare to DREAM left side |
A monochromatic layout, simply put, is different shades of one color - such as the layout shown here "dare to DREAM". Using one color to start out with is easy on someone who is new - to be able to create a wonderful layout using only shades of one color - in order to make it less confusing on you!!! If you use the Bazzill Basics paper packs, they will usually come in shades that match together, to take the guess work out of the project you are working on.

With this layout, I selected two different photos - one of my husband, me, and my three kids at my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary party. This as a very bittersweet photo - dad was dead a few years later right after my birthday... The bottom photo was of me when I got my ring from Del... Del and I didn't plan on each other, and over the years - well...the love we have for each other only grows stronger as time goes by and the problems we endure keep coming at us. Where others tried to break us up, we have only gotten stronger as time goes by - and our marriage has only gotten stronger.
This layout was done using leftovers from another layout I am going to share another day this week. I used a simple paper tearing technique in a mosaic format...creating the tag, the squares and the corners on each of the pages. The title was one that I received in another kit - but very fitting for this layout, and a very simple hand-written journaling on both the tag as well as the right side of the layout. I also used a simple silver for the accent color. This was another fun layout to do, using only one
color! If you are just starting out - try this on a layout to see how easy scrapbooking
can be!
**Now for the challenge - do some sort of a paper tearing or paper mosaic technique
in your next layout or card project you are planning.**
