Memories in Tyme Planning Challenge

The challenge I do once a month is designed to help me get more done and on time for a change!  I also know I need to spend more time getting things done, than spending time on things I simply can't control!  Plus it sure is fun making one of a kind presents for special people - instead of the same ole' things you get!  I like things I do - to be unique!    So, grab your favorite organizing utensils - pen/pencil, paper, notepad, calendar, tablet, phone, etc...and lets get started!!!!   Look at the next 6 weeks - until the middle of December - what all do you have in your life that you need to get things done for?   Look at the next 3 months - until the end of January - what more do you have to do after the holiday's? Look at the next 6 months - until the end of April - is there anything else you need to start to plan for, create, purchase?   I am excited to look at things for the next few weeks - I have plenty I need to plan for: ...

Supplies and Organizing Part Two

If you have been creating for a while - this post is for YOU!  If you have collected a ton of supplies, but really - nothing is organized...also for you!  Our supplies are a very important part of this whole "paper crafting" thing, along with the reason and the idea that is!  This month - we are going to talk a bit more about organizing and going through what we do have, in order to make room for ot her stuf f!!!  Go through everything you own for paper crafting.  As you are going through it - put like with like items, have a place for all the tools you use, and a place for things you want to get rid of! Use boxes that are the same size - in order to keep supplies in.  See this post for a great recycled idea that is perfect to put your supplies in!!!  As you can see, I have 3 with some of my supplies in...they really hold a lot more than they look!   Put supplies together in one place for things you are wanting to create (I have mine in ...

Paper Crafting -

I have been creating paper crafts for almost 26 years now, my daughter Terra's birth started it all for me!  I made her birth announcements out of a Disney stamp and card stock!  Now, not only do I make cards, but I also create fun scrapbook projects - especially mini albums!  I have a lot of supplies let me tell you...and I have learned a few things along the way!   You really truly don't need EVERYTHING you see!  Make sure when you do spend money on anything....you will use it more than once!   Keep a list of the things you do own, so you don't purchase double!  If you do this when you are first starting out, you won't have to go back and do this when you have a bunch of supplies!   Refer back to #1 - you really DON'T need each and every "thing" out there - pick and choose and have a reason for the purchase!  If you do purchase supplies - make sure it is things you will use over and over again, like cardstock, adhesive, punches,...

Memories in Tyme Changes

When I first started Memories in Tyme - I had all of these plans for me AND my business!  Life took a direction all it's own - and now that the pieces have fallen where they have...I can start to take a look at things a bit differently - and differently I am!  I realize that even though life took the turn it did - it truly made me into who I am today, and for that I am thankful!  Mistake in life #100.1 - never let your dreams go for anyone or anything !! Now - the above said - I am excited to get the planning going for Memories in Tyme:   Classes will start online in January!!!  We will also have free classes for you, as well as various paper crafting classes for you to choose from!  Making your own cards, scrapbooks, or gifts has never been easier!!!  Handmade paper crafts created for you, without breaking the bank!  All paper crafts made are made with even the smallest of details, as if I would give to my own friends or family! Monthly Planning Challenge

I am normally not an organized person - procrastinating comes natural for me I guess - and I hate it too!!!  I'm not sure if you guys are challenged like that - but for me, it's really hard to deal with!  For this month - I have a bunch of things I need to get started on, especially to get everything finished up before I really need them done!  Grab your favorite items to organize yourself with - your tablet, planner, computer, pen/pencil, paper - and lets get started!   Look at your calendar for the next 6 weeks until the middle of November - what kinds of events do you have that you need to get things done for? Next look at things for the next 3 months until the end of December - what other things do you have that you need to plan out and get things done for? Lastly, look at things for the next 6 months until the end of March, again - what types of things do you have going on you need to plan out things for?    My list is varied - from gifts to t...

What Can You Do With Stamps -

I have been stamping for 25+ years now - my first project, was my daughters' birth announcements created out of a Disney stamp and cardstock!!!  Such a generic basic project in which ended up making such an impact on my life - in many different ways!  When I started creating - I purchased so many different stamps it wasn't funny - yet I wasted a lot of money doing that, I didn't use even half of them .  Now, I look at the stamps I do purchase, and make sure I will use them more than once, in order to make the most out of the purchase I DO make!  I use stamps for: Making cards As accents on scrapbook pages As backgrounds on scrapbook pages With my Creative Paperclay product On my planner pages With my Project Life album   Cost effective tips -  Look in the bargain bins for stamps that don't cost a ton !  I have found wonderful stamps I use fro m Target , Michael's and Walmart!    You can also pick up small squares of ink pa...

Old and New -

I remember living in Utah where I started to scrapbook - I had already rubber stamped and had all these goodies I simply didn't know what to do with!  I went out all the time with my sister and spent so much money it wasn't funny!!!  I don't even think I used even half the supplies I bought - other than cardstock and adhesive that is, until recently!  Now, I try to purchase only what I need for my own personal stuff, and what I need to create with - I really don't purchase anything extra anymore!!!   What about you guys - do you purchase everything out there known to mankind and paper crafters everywhere, or do you selectively look at each item you do purchase a bit more?  I used to purchase everything, now I am selective - and love to mix both new supplies, with old supplies to create something fun and one of a kind!   A bit of a challenge for you this weekend: Grab something old and add it to something new - can be cardstock, paper, embellishments, ...
