A to Z About Lynda Project Idea -

I love making paper bag albums, the vertical style especially!  This has been one of my favorite projects that I have made, and I can't wait to get photos added and the journaling done!  Now, for the cover, I used Creative PaperClay product and my alphabet templates to cut out the letters to my name.  Using my Radiant Pearls paint (no longer around), I painted my name... and I molded the flowers with the clay, painting them as well.   As you open the album, you will see the first 2 pages, with the right page opening up to reveal 2 more letters!  You can see each of the sets of pages here -  You can see the pages are alike, yet a bit different at the same time.  All papers were bought at Michaels Arts and Crafts - with the embellishments from my Sizzix die cuts and punches.  Also used was Ashlyn's Alphabet Cricut cartridge for the alphabet.  A to Z about ME...  Words, phrases, pictures, favorites...that's ...

Lynda's September Creative PaperClay Tips

Hi!  It's Lynda from the design team bringing you some tips for September!  I love using the clay and recently discovered using my scrapbook templates with this fun stuff!  It was a lot of fun to play with, making different shapes as well as letters too!  Not only did I make my sisters album with her name on it, I also made an album for myself also with my name on it!  Working with the clay and templates, I have a few tips to help you along the way!   After you have rolled out your clay, flip the template over so you can use the flat side of clay on the bottom when you cut it out versus the top of the clay where it is not so smooth.   Use a sharp Xacto knife to cut the letters or objects out.  If edges are cut in to or not perfectly shaped, simply use your fingers to smooth it out.  Make sure you do this when the clay is wet! Clean your surface each time you use the clay - to make sure you have no pet hairs, food, or...

Another Vertical Paper Bag Album Idea

My sister Allison means the world to me!  As a little girl, I idolized her - she was the one who danced just like a princess - and me, I danced just like a 6 legged cow!  We haven't always been this close, honestly it has only been in the past 3 years or so that we have gotten along, and I am so thankful for her and her husband's influence on me!  She is the one person I can truly count on to say it like it is and to help me to heal and see things for what they are!  So, for her birthday this year (August 12), I made her a magnet, and a vertical paper bag album - idea shown here!  She hasn't seen them yet, or at least not in person anyway!  I get to see her in a few weeks, and I can't wait to see her face when she gets it!   Supplies I used for this project:   K&Company paper pack (floral design) White, red and yellow cardstock Sizzix die cuts - vine, flowers Various flower punches Rub-on's Trimmer Scissors Hot Glue gun a...

Creative PaperClay Design Team Project

I am so excited to bring you today's project...and since I scrapbook more than I craft you get more of those type of ideas from me! I absolutely love doing vertical paper bag albums - being able to customize the covers to match the papers inside! With this project - it was made for my sassy sister Allison's birthday! (The one shown in last months post!) I can't wait for her to see it!!!  I started with the basic Creative PaperClay product, added my alphabet templates for scrapbooking I haven't used in a while, and my Xacto knife! It is a bit tricky to cut out the letters with the clay, but the look of it was perfect! As you are cutting out the letters, simply use your finger to fix any imperfections when the clay is being cut out. As I let the clay pieces dry out - I always turn them over about 12 hours in to things to allow for the other side to dry too. After the pieces have completely dried, grab your paint and paint the clay letters. I also mol...

Creative PaperClay Tips

Creative Paperclay® and their Delight product is just amazing to work with.  If you are in to scrapbooking - I have used it for one of a kind embellishments on my pages and cards!  Recently I pulled out some of my old scrapbooking templates to see what I could come up with!  On the next project I am showing you, you will see how I made clay names to put on the front of a paper bag album cover for my sister!  My tips for this month is all about using templates with your creations!   Use scrapbook templates to create shapes cutting them out with an Xacto knife when the clay is wet.  You can also use cookie cutters, but if you already have templates for scrapbooking, then this works just as good!  If you have any edges that you have cut in to - simply flatten it against the clay to make it smoother.  When using the Xacto knife, you will get flaws in your edges as you cut the clay out.    Look at both sides of the ...
