Christmas in July Blog Hop 7/22 – 7/25
Welcome to my first ever Memories in Tyme Christmas in July blog hop!!! After going to my first blog hop recently, I knew I needed to host my own hop this month for people to start to look at Christmas! The economy is hard right now, what better way to save money by making wonderful things for your friends and family instead of spending a ton of money you don’t have! Plus if you spend a bit of time and money each month, things will not be so hard at the end! Everyone has been working really hard on things this month, and we all hope you enjoy all the fun ideas we are sharing with you!!
Participants are:
Kimmarie - http://kimmarieskorner.blogspot.com/
Jennifer – http://jenlovestoscrap.blogspot.com/
Margie - http://mysweettater.blogspot.com/
Now for the totally fun part – I will be giving away a $25 gift card to use at any store to one person… In order to be eligible for the drawing, you must do the following:
- Leave a comment on every blog on the hop for each day.
- Become a follower of each of the ladies on the blog.
Winner will then be chosen from all the comments from followers from the entire event.
Today's project is one that is fun to make, a recipe album only in a lunch box tin! Looking around, I have found a great kit like the one here at Oriental Trading Company, this kit also comes with the proper dividers too, to make it easier for you to recreate!
Supply list:
Tin (such as the one in the link above)
Paper to wrap around the base
Cardstock to match the paper
Punch - flower
Brads
Alpha stickers
Ribbon
Die cut - flower
Button
Directions:
Step one: Wrap the paper around the base of the tin from back to the front, and then in the front to the back. The sides will be hidden by cardstock that match the paper.
Step two: For the sides, cut cardstock to go on each of the sides, matting with another color on the top of that. Add a flower die cut and a button to the top of that.
Step three: Create the title for the top using the alphabet stickers and cardstock. Make sure you put the brads on each of the 4 corners.
Step four: Add a bit of ribbon to the bottom of the creation and to the very top in a coordinating pattern or color. Also add the ribbon to the top on the handle all the way across.
Step five: Decorate the inside dividers in matching cardstock using your own sections, or the ones listed below.
Divider sections:
Appetizers
Beverages
Breads, Biscuits & Muffins
Cakes, Fillings & Frostings
Candies
Cookies
Jam, Jelly & Preserves
Meats
Outdoor Cooking
Pies & Pastries
Poultry
Salads & Salad Dressings
Sandwiches & Snacks
Soups & Sauces
Vegetables
Next up on the hop is my friend Kimmarie - I am sure you will agree with me ladies, this has been an awesome swap so far, 2 more days full of ideas to go! I have another mini album for Sunday - and Christmas cards on Monday...so make sure you follow all of us and leave comments each day to be eligible for the prize! Have an awesome day!
