Del's daughter Megan and her family |
It all started last week on Facebook...reading a post from a girl I went to school with, to another school mate of ours, Bill Z. JaNae had commented about his daughter Megan who had just passed away. Being curious about this beautiful girl who just looked so young, I discovered she was a mom of 2 beautiful kids, one of which was only just a couple of months old if that...and she was a scrapbooker, a wife, a mom of 2...a daughter, a step-daughter, a sister, a step-sister. Her life was cut way too short...but with this girl, you should see the people who are coming forward to her parents, all telling them they are there for them...and how loved she was...and going to her Facebook wall and posting still, songs, thoughts...talk about a love for a girl!
And then today, my buddy Jeff Taylor, also went to school with - posted the following:
As we mature, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. Everyone will lie to you at some time. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is passing way too fast. You will suffer some losses of people who are dear to you.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, don't hold grudges, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. Be thankful for what you have. Focus on the positive in your life and do not dwell on the negative. You just have to live life to the fullest, tell those who you care about what they mean to you and that you appreciate them often. Value yourself and do not sell yourself short. Speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts.Treat others as you would want to be treated. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back. Remember, one day you will be out of tomorrows. So, your challenge for the week this week is to do a layout about your favorite quote, poem or saying. My layout will be one of my kids and I taken just this past June. Not wanting to go into drama, I haven't seen them for 6 years due to Hurricane Brandi and the situation not going away. Instead of affecting them, I chose to let them live with their dad and be happy. I am still dealing with the repercussions of this event...not only from my own children, but Del's as well. The above quote says it all, you don't have any guarantees in life, just the guarantee that you are here for the moment...don't let things be too late before you start to deal with things. This year has been a wonderful healing time for me and my husband, thank you God for the blessings you have given us! And Thank you to each one of you who continue to read the blog and support it the way you do!
