Digital Scrapbooking - Beginner

I love digital scrapbooking - being able to take photos and memories and create a page!  I love this picture of me, my husband, 3 of our grandchildren taken a few years ago!  Since then, their mother - Del's daughter, has had another baby, this time a boy!  This picture has been used in many projects...but this layout is probably my favorite! Your challenge is to find one of your favorite layouts to start with.  Find one quote that you can use to go with it!  Choose one accent color you will use - I chose pink to match the girls' shirts and bow...  Create a layout with black and white, with one accent color!  I really like simple layouts like this, that doesn't take a lot of time to create it!  If you don't have a particular software you use - look back to the previous posts and you will find links to software I would recommend!  Within the next few weeks I will be reviewing another scrapbook software, and how to add kits for free, so make sure you check back!  I h

Beginner Digital Scrapbooking

If you missed last week...check out the post here , for a link to free digital scrapbook software you can start out with, to decide if this is for you!  I hope you decided what software you want to use - or you downloaded the free version - if so lets do another fun project! Starting with a photo - use it as the background for the whole page.  Add some sort of embellishment, and journaling!  You don't have to do black and white, but if you want to, change the color of the photo!  Look at the digital embellishments you have access to in each of the kits that you have, and pick out a nice font for the journaling!  The layouts can be saved as a jpeg format for you to share and print out easily! Or change it up...use a background or two...no more than 3 embellishments and a frame... NO journaling or title to be used...but you can do a separate page with anything else if you want!     Digital scrapbooking is fun in the sense you can change the look of just one picture - and can

Scrapping With Lisa Designs - Design Team Project

Okay - but first off...these two have just GOT to be the cutest things I have seen!  I love digital scrapbooking, especially when I scrap-lift photos to do a project!  Don't worry, I didn't just go to some random girls page and grab photos of her twins just to do this layout - their mom is someone my oldest went to school with - and with her permission, this layout was done!  Now I would totally claim them as my grand-daughters they are absolutely that cute, but my sister has the twins in our family, I'm not quite that lucky - YET!   The file for this project and so many more can be purchased at Scrapping With Lisa Designs , and  can be used as paper piecing patterns, or printed and cut out to put on your pages or projects that way!  She has a lot of neat files and a fun Christmas related blog hop coming up at the end of the month to showcase her awesome Christmas files!  I just ordered and received two of the best files - I can't wait to get working on them, plannin

Scrapping with Lisa Designs - Design Team Project

With today's layout, I'm going to start with the particulars first - then the story behind the layout!  I feel the story behind the layouts are sometimes more important than the layouts themselves, but that is just my own personal opinion!  For me, I really like working with Lisa's designs as they are so versatile, and can be used in so many different ways!  After this project, I have a fun card planned with the pieces you will find here - being able to customize it to the school colors for the recipient - and maybe even adding a few thank you cards for the person to send out as well!!!  Plus I can use the full sized patterns for paper piecing a fun framed page when I actually get the prints for this wonderful day!  With this particular piece, I used 2 different patterns, both listed below: Scrapping with Lisa Designs patterns -       Graduate      Congrats Digital scrapbook paper - red I Believe in You saying - (digital) Font for the names and date of their gradu

9-11 Tenth Anniversary Remembrance Blog Hop

Welcome to a blog hop devoted to the remembrance of the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11th.  If you just happened up on my blog, then you can go back to Tami's blog with is the    beginning - you have got to see all the wonderful talent!!!    The terrorist attack against our nation, which happened a decade ago, is a long time for some.  However for many, the day feels all too close. The deeply seared memories of the human sufferings and acts of heroism, which took place on that day, changed our nation. The nation was in shock when terrorists decided to hijack our airplanes and turn them into weapons.  It was beyond anyone’s belief that something so horrific could happen on our own soil.  It would be one thing if it were just the destruction of the Twin Towers or damage to the Pentagon and a field in Shanksville, PA, but almost 3,000 people perished, from the attack, leaving a scar on the sole of America. Americans came together as one, in the emotional aftermath of
My Life       The digital layouts that are done and shown are all done with Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 software and their free kits they have available.  I love the versatility of the paper and embellishments they have in each of their kits, being able to use them for other things...not just the theme.  The kit I used for this project is British Street Party - which also has a fun themed paper, and other themed related sayings you can add to your layouts. Most people look at the theme of something, and instantly not look into it because of the name...I was curious to see what was in the kit, and I am glad I did.  Make sure to look inside the kits to see all the different things you have available inside each kit!  I am working on a special project with the layouts I am sharing from this event...  I want to make a book at Shutterfly.com with the layouts I am making now and give it to my kids and my mom...        Digital is fun, let me tell you!  I can get inspiration for a la

Life revisited...

Life, left side  The other day, I posted this post...  including a challenge for you to create a layout with a quote, poem or saying that you like...  From that challenge, this is the layout spread that I have finished up...    Quote by Jeff Taylor, digital layout spread made with Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 software and page kits.   Life isn't about taking score...who did this, or who didn't do that...  It's not about he said this or she said that's...and it's really not about who was there and who wasn't...  It isn't about how rude you can be to another person, or who is "different" than you are...  A nd it certainly isn't about who can lie the best about things that shouldn't be lied about.     What life IS about... spending time with those you care about, being happy - even if things have went wrong in your life.   It's about standing up for something EVEN IF YOU ARE STANDING ALONE... It's about laughing in th
