Christmas in July Blog Hop 7/22 – 7/25
Welcome to my first ever Memories in Tyme Christmas in July blog hop!!! After going to my first blog hop recently, I knew I needed to host my own hop this month for people to start to look at Christmas! The economy is hard right now, what better way to save money by making wonderful things for your friends and family instead of spending a ton of money you don’t have! Plus if you spend a bit of time and money each month, things will not be so hard at the end! Everyone has been working really hard on things this month, and we all hope you enjoy all the fun ideas we are sharing with you!!
Participants are:
Kimmarie - http://kimmarieskorner.blogspot.com/
Jennifer – http://jenlovestoscrap.blogspot.com/
Margie - http://mysweettater.blogspot.com/
Now for the totally fun part – I will be giving away a $25 gift card to use at any store to one person… In order to be eligible for the drawing, you must do the following:
- Leave a comment on every blog on the hop for each day.
- Become a follower of each of the ladies on the blog.
Altered coffee can |
For my project today to finish things out, is a way for you to CHEAPLY give your gifts... If you are like me, you drink coffee...for me, it's only MJB Coffee or nothing else...and it HAS to have French Vanilla Creamer along with it... I hate to keep throwing the cans away, and since everyone else does fun things with Paint Can's...this is Lynda's cheap version of that!!!
Supplies needed:
Some sort of a big can - cleaned out
Paper or cardstock to decorate the outside of the can
Paper piecings, die cuts, or stickers
Tissue paper for the inside of the can
Adhesive (I use hot glue gun or Glue Dots adhesive)
Step one: Make sure inside and outside of the can is washed and dried.
Step two: Wrap paper around the can - either using 8.5 x 11 or 12 x 12 paper for the base of the creation.
Step three: Decorate the outside of the can using die cuts, paper piecings, stickers, or whatever else you would like. Customize to each recipient on your gift list by putting gift cards, candy, or their gift in it.
Now - in answer to some of the comments from this weekend... My mini albums take me about 2-3 hours to make, from the time I start them until the time I finish them up. 99% of the ideas are all in my head, I just start a project and it seems to "flow" out of me... For those that don't do that and struggle with your pages, I am so sorry...I wake up with layouts, cards and projects in my head...sometimes it really sucks and other times, it's way awesome! A lot of my work has hidden aspects such as journaling and places to put tags and photos in them so you can get the most out of what you are making. Most of why I do what I do - is because I have been able to scrapbook on purchasing very little supplies in the past 8 years...I used up what I had at home instead of spending money... Again, thank you for the compliments, I love to create, and love to share with you how easy it really is!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this hop, not only in sharing my things, but also in seeing what the others have done as well. It takes time in planning gifts you want to make, to design the perfect thing for your gift recipients! Thanks for being a part of this fun blog hop – I hope you have had as much fun as we have had in doing it!
