Ongoing projects and a few hints and tips to get things done this month

We have a few ongoing projects that I wanted to talk about, to help you with inspiration, and to remind you that even though this is Christmas in July - please remember to think about YOU during this month as well!

  • Monthly layouts - if you can handle journaling through the month, taking a few pictures, and then making two layouts - then this is for you!  By doing a monthly album, you can keep track of all the fun events through the month, and then be able to whip out a great 2 page spread in no time.  Just keep track of the things you want to notate each month to add to your layout...or use your Facebook or Myspace status' instead!
  • Gratitude journal - watching Oprah's last show and listening to some of the things that was said, this "journal" really hit close to home for me.  So, my challenge for you is to start this project NOW!
  • All about ME - a project EVERYONE should do whether they are a man or woman!  Challenge questions are on this link, or check out basic journaling tips to get started with fun questions you can scrapbook.

Once summertime hits and you are spending so much time with the kids, on vacations, working on the house...or whatever...that at times you just don't have the time to "scrapbook" on top of it all.  Here are a few hints and tips to help you this summer - in order to get things done!

  • When you are going to the park or spending time outside, find something that you are able to take back and forth in order to get little things done.  This way, you aren't spending too much time away from the family when getting things done.
  • Remember when you are sitting there watching tv - bring out things you need to cut, or go through while you are doing that.  Multitasking at it's best, let me tell you!
  • Try to keep up on things as you go, instead of having to think you need to be all caught up in nothing flat.
  • Keep track of the ideas you want to do by finding A-Z index card dividers with 3 x 5 cards to keep track of the things you want to make.  In this, lets say I have a card idea I want to use in a birthday theme, I would put at the top of the card the magazine and issue, plus a bit about the idea itself.
  • Don't think you need to do it all right now...winter time will come, and you will need fun things to do with your kids then!
  • Make sure you spend at least once a month during the summertime with your friends cropping.  This is not too much to ask, especially if you spend all the time with the kids in the first place!
Scrapbooking is a lot of fun...plus it can be a great way to showcase memories, great gifts for people who don't scrapbook, and a great stress reliever as well!  I hope you enjoy this month - and make sure you check out some of the fun past projects!
