Womens History Month - Part One

Us wom en are remarkable creatures...  I'm not sure why we have simply a "month" to talk about other women...seems to me, we would rather bash and be little women than to empower them!  Us women could do so much - instead we do SO MUCH to others...  This album - and this month...a bit differently than before....and excited to actually start this album RIGHT NOW!!!    A few years ago, I started a n album (hey I at least found the perfect stuff for the album in my stash of stuff ) for Women's History Month!!!  Mine includes women (good and bad) who have shaped me into the woman I am today!   To get things started - you can go to this link , and get caught up with what you need!! !   For me and my album : I have the album select ed that I am using.....(shop ping at home first) Thoughts from the past blog posts ready on a sheet of paper for each person Pictures ready to print this month on Shutterfly (my MOST favorite place to print out p...

Rules Of Life Project -

Everyone in life has their own book of "rules" - those things in life you just simply do because they are right, or because you were taught that way!  I see n the above qu ote on Facebook (of course), and like usual - a new project came in to play....  Those Lynda's Book of Life Rules!!! With this project -you will want to get some paper to make some notes with!  The album will be more journaling and some pictures - more of a way to document and keep documenting!  Rules end up changing - or adding on to ...  Things you put up with when you are in your 20's - I  will almost tell you, you won't when you are a bit older!  Those little life rules that are YOURS!   6 x 6 mini album for sale For my project - I am thinking I will do a 6 x 6 al bum (like this one I have for sale), with this graphic for the cover!  Something with a bit of hidden aspects and tags for sure!  For me - I want something in my own handwriting ... ...

Who Has Influenced YOU The Most

I was watching "The Talk" today, a talk show in CBS (if you have never watched it)!  It isn't my normal thing to watch on a daily basis, though I would if I could or sure!  Anyway - back to the task at hand (LOL) - they asked a question, I thought would be perfect for a project!!!!      Who in your life has influenced you the MOST? I have to tell you - I have a lot of people who have influenced me...  I am not sure I WANT to go in to a lot of the bad things here - even though they HAVE shaped me in to who I am today...  That would have to be done using hidden aspects in a project instead of a page all their own!   That one person for me- if I simply had to choose only one - is my husband!   Del has not had it easy in life - from one thing to another, and even another...  He has shown me that you put one foot in front of the other, and do what you need to - NOT what the masses tell you to do!  He has taught me how to love - a...

Monthly Challenge Post

Can we just say I am a bit behind the times!  I just recently got my first smartphone, and am learning all the fun things you can do with these fun devices, both business wise AND personal!  The fun little games to keep you occupied, the money saving apps, reading apps, and time saving apps too!  Yet I am old school too you might say, where a good ole' pen and paper helps me just fine when it comes to keeping track of things that needs to get done!  Today's post - is all about getting things planned out for the upcoming events and things in your life!   Now - as you look at this post, please do not think it is all about getting ready for the holiday's - it's not!  If you don't celebrate them, then great, your list will be a bit different than other people's will be (and less stressful when it comes to making things)!!!   Okay - grab your favorite items to organize yourself with - your smartphone, calendar, pen and pencil, notebook, sticky notes - a...

As I was doing my morning routine today, I stumbled upon this quote and simply loved it for many reasons.  Both personally and business wise - this quote really hit home for me, especially today!  So, a challenge or two we must do!!!   Take your favorite quote, song, poem or whatever - and scrapbook it!!!!   Use a part of a quote, song, poem or whatever in a title, with the rest of it in the journaling.   Create a wall hanging with your favorite quote on it. Womens History Month

It is Women's History Month this month (thanks Lisa Marie for that info) - so I thought it would be good to create a project or two (or more) about the women in our lives, or those that have influenced us in some capacity or another!  Today's post, I want to honor an incredible person, who ended up changing my life in such ways - a simple thank you to her and 2 others, wouldn't be enough!  The only thing I personally can do, is continue to be a better person than I was then, and hopefully one day she will understand what she helped me to do!!!   Today - I honor Lisa Bearnson!!!   I will never forget the day I met Lisa - at the scrapbook expo we have in Utah twice a year!  My dad had just passed away on 8/5/04 (long story short - my ex-husband committed suicide 8/5/99 - 5 years to the day earlier), so my mindset after my dad died - was not as it should have been!  I was depressed, sad, wanted to die as it is...had so much stuff going on from an ex-from...

' The key here is to not spend money creating something paper craft related!  I have a few things I will be working on the next few weeks - and will show you what I have done!  No spending money for me - I work on what I have at home, spending...

A Challenge or Two

This is my "baby girl", when she was a baby that is!  She's now 23 - and absolutely the best daughter I could ask for.  Oh it wasn't me who changed HER life...it was her that changed mine and why I am the way I am!  My first project ever in paper crafting was her birth announcements, made out of a Disney stamp and cardstock!  My love for paper crafting started with this one little project!   Since then, I have scrapbooked who knows how many mini albums, scrapbooks and individual pages for not only my kids, but also for plenty of others!  I learned - through creating - how to heal my emotions, using it for therapy instead of a therapist!  Now I know enough to know when to say "I need a therapist"!   Honestly, I haven't created...or been able to create for months now.  Between drama going on with "family", and trying to finish up rebuilding our lives...I think creatively I am at enough...   So, bear with me while I get...

Struggling Through the Non-creative Times

I am a creative person - wake up with layouts and projects in my head from things I want to make...until lately.  Now, I just can't create for anything....t here is way too much going on in my life, making it so that I can't create in the first place - which seriously - I don't need right now!  So, how do you struggle through those times in your life when you aren't as creative as you normally are?  Here are just a few tips that have helped me out: Pinterest is a great place to start if you need some fun inspiration for all aspects of your life!  I have all kinds of different boards for scrapbooking, card making, decorating my house, colors I want to work with...you get the idea!  You can follow me by clicking on the link!   Magazines and idea books that you have, but you never actually use them - or go to the library to check out some fun books there if you are on a budget!  Make sure to check with your friends who live by you that scrapbook ...

Friday's Color Challenge -

Aqua, tan and green Today's challenge is to go to Better Homes and Gardens Color Combo's Using Blue article and check out all the fun color combo's they have!  The above scheme is my absolute favorite, though I am not sure if it would be for a card or a scrapbook layout!  I am sure I will end up playing with a few things for sure - with a few of the schemes they have!  Or - will you choose the baby blue, grass green and camel scheme, or blue red and yellow, or blue and orange, or for a more classy look - the steel blue, silver and pearl scheme!!!  I know or me, I am having a hard time choosing which one I want to play with first!    **Update 5/4 - 1:38pm MST** Due date is 5/18 - please make sure you send me your link to your blog, or your favorite gallery where you have uploaded it to!!!  I will be asking my favorite designer to be a guest blogger in June!!!   Lynda Jeffs Memories in Tyme
