One thing that can help this season is make your own tags instead of spending a bunch of money on little "to and from" tags! Using scraps of paper left over from other projects will save you a lot of money in the long run. Find stickers or die cuts left over from other projects, and add them any cardstock or patterned paper you have to make your tags. Look at how many tags you would have to make and try to spread making them over a few weeks, instead of just jumping right in and getting them done.
Swaps are another fun way to get different styles of tags, made from different people. Not only are you going to get different ideas, but you also get different types of styles when you participate in a swap. The tags you give can then be used on a framed page, or a layout project or put away for use on something specific.
Directions:
Step one: create the base of the tag 2" x 4" (or any variations of that size).
Step two: Cut the top of the tags on each side with a hole punched at the top.
Step three: Start to make the base of the tag using different papers that are themed and match.
Step four: Add a cute saying to the top, any stickers or die cuts you have that match the project.
Step five: Add floss and ribbon to the top of the tag through the hole. Add your "to and from" to the back for the person the present goes to.
Christmas is not meant to be stressful - that is why I am spending this month in helping you get different ideas to get started on making this a great season. Times are really hard right now for everyone. Spend a little time in learning how to make things, instead of spending the money purchasing them. This way - your money will be stretched even further, and a handmade item made just for THEM is always better than getting a gift you won't use anyway! Enjoy this month of Christmas in July!
