Papercraft Haven and More

If you have been creating for a while - this post is for YOU!  If you have collected a ton of supplies, but really - nothing is organized...also for you!  Our supplies are a very important part of this whole "paper crafting" thing, along with the reason and the idea that is!  This month - we are going to talk a bit more about organizing and going through what we do have, in order to make room for ot her stuf f!!!  Go through everything you own for paper crafting.  As you are going through it - put like with like items, have a place for all the tools you use, and a place for things you want to get rid of!      Storage doesn't have to take a ton of money in order to keep your stuff organized and in one place.  For my cards, I use a simple box that used to hold envelopes in - after they are gone, then I can use the box!  I added categories such as Anniversary/Wedding, Baby, Birthday, Thank You, Thinking of You, Note-cards and things I use a lot of.  As I am scrapbooking and have paper or things left over from what I am doing, I add the scraps of paper to the categories I have in my box.  This way - if I am working on a birthday card and I don't have one already made, I can make it from the scraps I have!         I like to keep things in one place, instead of all over the place in drawers and things.  As I want to work on something - a birthday card lets say - I grab my box to see what I have available first.  I then look at the stamps I have and the embellishments I have and see what I can put together with what I have. ...

Organizing your stuff and your ideas...  We all go through it, how to keep things organized so you can get things done.  I have organized and reorganized myself multiple times...here are a few tips to help you get started!  Organize your page ideas, technique ideas, etc., together in binders.  I use a 3" binder (now at least 7 binders full of ideas) all in the A-Z format.  This way when you are working on journaling you can go to the J's, or if you need help in photo matts, you would go to the M's.  I also have a recipe card file also in the A-Z format for articles in magazines that I like, web sites I like, colors, or other small bits of information.  This is located on my desk so I have easy access to it.  Getting a plastic organizer with drawers in it is essential, or check out the selection Michaels has with their furniture.  You do need to put it together (check out the product review that I did for this here ) but they are very goo...
