Okay ladies, if you can scrapbook - you can stamp...and if you stamp, you can scrapbook!!!  I started out making cards over 22 years ago, using a simple card pack, color pencils and a Disney stamp to create my daughter's birth announcements!  Today, I use stamps for my cards and my scrapbook pages in so many different forms...  This month we are going to do more with our stamps... showcasing the different things you can do with them, as well as ways you can save money when you use stamps!   To get started, you will want to have a basic toolbox kit - added to your scrapbooking toolbox kit!  You might find a few other "tools" that are necessary for your kit - and some of what I list not "as" necessary.  Please know this is just a guideline for you to start with - and the supplies will grow as you grow!  Basic toolbox:  Stamps Ink pads  Card packs Chalks White eraser Bone folder Ruler Embossing powder Embossing gun Corner rou...

     This is the sketch for the week for Simply52 -  my project is a fun Christmas card to put away in my stash to send out to people this year!  I am also playing with some fun note-card's out of scraps for this fun sketch, so I hope you come back to see what else I have added to this page!!!!   Supplies needed:   Card base Christmas theme paper (scraps are perfect) Scraps of paper Stamp saying  Red ink pad good for embossing Embossing powder Heat gun Ribbon Button Directions: Step one:  Cut the card base for the base of the card.   Step two:  Cut two strips of the polka dot paper for the top and side, place down with adhesive of your choice.   Step three:  Cut the green Ho Ho paper and add it to the top of the side piece with your adhesive of choice.   Step four:  Using your red ink pad, ink the stamp you have chosen, adding the embossing powder to the top of the stamp...

As I was going through a really stressful time in my life, scrapbooking was used as a therapy tool...only it was something I never understood until later on in life.  Since I stamped before I scrapbooked, I had a lot of "things" to use with both crafts...once I organized it all anyway!!!   In this layout, I used a basic heart background stamp and a colored ink pad in a darker shade as the main color I was using.  The stamp then can be used in something totally different such as a card, or on an envelope as a cute accent!   Stamps are very versatile, take a look at the card example - one background stamp in white for the background, with another one for the saying.  The inside of the card allows you to customize it to the person receiving it...plus you can change the colors for a girl, or generic if you have no idea what the baby is going to be.  Using stamps as backgrounds is great, especially if you can't find the r...

Mothers Day is right around the corner, so here is a card you can recreate for your own "mother", friend, or sister!   I always like quick and easy when I am making things.  I use sketches at times, but normally I just "wing it".  If you "google" card sketches, you will find blogs and sites all around full of card sketches you can use to follow.   In this example, I used 3 stamps and embossing powder...that's it!  Embossing is not hard to do, you need a small heat gun to heat the powder, that's about it.  I picked mine up on sale, those wonderful 40% off coupons you can get work wonderful for this, it will then make the purchase less.  However, things like this make great gifts, sending these links to your friends and family.    http://www.robertscrafts.com/default.aspx?PageID=83   is for the gun http://www.robertscrafts.com/default.aspx?PageID=83 and this is for the powder.  I use black, gold and some...

Cards are easy to do, and can be customized by using favorite colors or a favorite saying even.  They can be made with scraps of paper oftentimes, making it a cheap card.   With the card you see here, the colors match from the saying and heart to the pinks in the card.  I added a bit of ribbon and lace, with a handmade buckle embossed to match.  You can change the colors, use birthday background paper, with a Happy Birthday saying and an image stamp to match!     Look for small saying stamps with small image stamps to match, the squares are all the same size to make it easier when putting it together.  The fun part of this card was the buckle made out of a soda pop top and embossing powder to match!  This can be done with just about any color of embossing powder you have that can match the paper you are using.  Supplies needed:   Card back Background paper in 2 coordinating colors Button Image and saying stam...
