Santa's Helpers - one of the funnest layouts I have done in a long, long time! I hope you enjoy in recreating this fun layout!
Supplies needed:
Cardstock - green
white
red
Patterned paper - green
red
Gold paper
Scraps of brown paper for sign
Eyelets
Punches - bow, circle, sun
Elf (my own design, made from a paper doll that was cut smaller)
Pom pom's for the tips of the elf shoes
Paper trimmer for the small things that need to be trimmed
Alphabet stamps
Stamp pad in black
Black embossing powder
Clear embossing powder
Radiant Pearls paint
Black marker
Directions:
Step one: Trim 1" off the top and side of the white cardstock, place on top using adhesive. Add eyelets (or brads) to the 4 corners of each of the pages, set aside to put each piece on top as you are done.
Step two: Using the green and red cardstock, start to make 4 different frames for photos. On a couple of the frames, put the top color at an angle such as the example shown.
Step three: Start to cut different shapes of patterned paper for the presents, you will need 10 of them. Using the gold paper, start to trim the pieces for the presents, and punch the bows for the top. Set each aside.
Step four: Using brown cardstock, trim the pieces for the sign. Using a black marker, start to put the details in the sign for the wood. Make sure to put it together using the adhesive of your choice.
Step five: Using your alphabet stamps, start to stamp the letters for the title. Add black embossing powder to it, and heat this up. Using the Radiant Pearls paint, start to paint each of the letters, going red then green on every other one. Add clear embossing powder to the top and heat that up. Cut each letter out individually - using adhesive to add them to the creation.
Step six: The elf is my own creation using a picture as the inspiration - I used a paper doll pattern and cut it down a bit more to make it more elf like. Each piece was made looking at the original.....however, if you need a copy of the elf pattern, let me know and I will get it for you!) Add one of the presents to his hand, and place aside.
Step seven: For the remaining presents, separate where you want them to go.... I have 3 on the left side, 3 on the right side and then 3 more to go on the red piece on the right side of the layout. This is the hidden journaling part. Take a 12 x 12 sheet of white paper, fold it in an accordion style for the inside of the book. Take a piece of red cardstock, add it to the bottom and another one on the top. Add 3 of the presents to the top of the creation.
Step eight: Add the pieces to each of sides and add the adhesive to the creation.
Christmas layouts can be done ahead of time, especially if you know the types of pictures you always take anyway! I challenge you to look at what supplies you have, and do what you can to get things started now! Enjoy!
