Using scraps for card making

Organizer box - categories for cards
Making cards is a lot of fun - grabbing a quick card pack from a local craft store that has the envelopes and the card bases, add your scraps and leftovers from your layouts - and you instantly have one of a kind handmade cards!!!  Since I have rubber stamped longer than I have scrapbooked, doing both crafts makes it easy when I create, by using leftovers for things like cards, bookmarks, and even paper piecing patterns.  I have things in categories for the cards I make, however, this is my list - feel free to add to it, or change it in any capacity!

  • Anniversary or wedding
  • Baby
  • Birthday
  • Friendship
  • Get well
  • Just because
  • Notecards
  • Sympathy
  • Thank you
  • Thinking of you
  • Holidays
As I scrapbook - I put the scraps from that project in a small clear plastic drawer - and then when it gets full, I put them in an accordion style file folder separated by color.  As I am creating things, I go first to that drawer to see what scrap is there - and then on to my file folder.  Once in a while, as I am sitting around, I will go through the scraps and see what is there for me to sit and make!  Or, as I am working on other projects, I might check to see what kind of scrap I have instead of pulling down an entire sheet!

Cards are fun to make, and a great way to use up the scraps you already have!  It is a great way to save money by making a card for people instead of going out and purchasing them!  Use up your supplies as you can...and share with me what you make...link up your blog, or send me an email at LyndaJinco at gmail.com!!

We have a fun sponsor for our next blog hop - all about fall...so make sure you check back on 9/15 for the next hop - and....for the totally cool part, our sponsor will be Designs on Cloud 9 who will be giving away $25 of their products!  I can't wait to play with their digi stamps!!!!  We also have another fun sponsor for our hop in October - so make sure you check back in October for this hop!!!  It's all about Halloween here!!
