This is one of those projects that just was in my head...no inspiration for it, I just woke up with it..... It was suppose to be for the last Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame contest that was going on - I had gotten a bunch of layouts done, and you needed to do a mini album project...this is what came up from that!!! Now, if you seen this project...the inspiration came from this album...not just the colors, but the inside of the album as well. Allison wanted something that didn't have a lot of foo-fla...just because her album would be in her purse! This album is placed in a basket with other projects I have done...so I could have all the foo-fla I wanted!!!
Lets get started with the supplies and directions!!!
Supplies:
Brown paper
Inside front cover |
Ivory paper
Various stamps (hearts)
Stamp pad
Embossing powder
Heart die cuts
Alpha stickers and rub on's (or stamps)
Eyelets
Twine
Beads
Thin chipboard (like the stuff in inserts of clothes, etc)
Black fine tip marker
Directions:
Step one: Determine the size you want your album to be on the very top. Looking at the photo right above us, you will notice the brown part, which is the chipboard covered in brown and pink paper. Fold your piece of chipboard, then cover it with the paper, using the brown on bottom and the pink for the top part.
Step two: Using a separate sheet of paper for the top, you will matt a pink sheet and a brown sheet, with the pink on bottom, using a piece of thin chipboard to make it more sturdy. You will need to make sure this piece will go over the entire top of the base. First, you want to get your stamps, and start to create the hearts around the edges of the top piece. Make sure to emboss that when you are done.
Step three: Still working on the top start to work on the title - I used one large alpha sticker for the "I", and then rub on's for the rest. Add 4 brads to the corners, attaching them to your top piece. Finish off with the die cuts on different places.
Step four: To attach the top part of the album to the base, hole punch the top and bottom of the right side with both the base and top attached. Add a piece of twine through it, making a bow, and then adding a few beads to the bottom of the twine. Make sure you tie a knot in the bottom of the twine so the beads do not fall out.
Step five: Start to create your insides...each page is an accordion style, with about 7 pages total. Each page will have a photo, journaling and a few die cuts if need be. Each of the photos I used was matted in ivory, then pink...then attached to the page.
Step six: For the final touch, on the left side, top and bottom...add your twine through the left sides, creating another bow at the top to close the album...

ReplyDeleteHello Lynda,
ReplyDeleteGlad to find your blog. I am in Colorado Springs and love to scrapbook. Just wish I had more time. I have helped my mom in VA make several family heritage scrapbooks which she enjoys sharing with family members and friends. She even made copies of some of the pages for a family member who got married and lives far away in Alaska. Peggie
Peggie - I am so glad that you have worked on the heritage albums...I swear by the All About ME albums...cheaper than therapy, let me tell you!!
