This week it's been all about birthdays - mine was the 2nd, Barbara's is today (Happy Birthday Barbara - I have had tons of fun hopping with you the past few weeks!!), and my husband's daughter Cheryl's birthday is on Sunday - a very happy birthday to that Marine - we here at the Jeffs household thank her and her husband (and the entire troop) for their service to this country - please stay safe... And the birthday girl (whose presents I am showcasing) is my wonderful sister Allison...who has just been the best thing to happen to me since my dad's birthday.....I hope you have an awesome week, and I hope you enjoy what I have been playing with and making for you!
Now on to the fun idea..... There is only 3 of us hopping this week - giving you wonderful gift ideas and anything birthday related... Make sure you go and check out the other two girls, and make sure you check out what everyone has been up to!
Directions:
Step one: For the front and back cover - decide how big you want it to be... Mine is 8.6 tall by about 5" wide or so... Start to cover the front and back cover using the same paper, wrapping the edges around the inside cover.
Step two: Take a piece of coordinating paper and cover the inside of the cover, leaving a bit of the front covers paper peaking out around it. Repeat on the other side.
Step three: Using your hole punch, punch two holes for the chains to go through in order to hold the creation together. Repeat on the other side.
Step four: Add your flowers to the bottom part of the creation, adding the buttons to the top.
Step five: Take your solid color of paper, add the birthday saying to it, embossing in white when you are done to make it pop. Matt on one of the other colors, add to the top of the book. Finish off with a simple bow at the top. Set these two pieces aside.
Step six: For the inside of the front cover, take a piece of scrap ribbon, and make a place where a pen can go through, using your glue gun to glue the piece down. Also make a notepad holder for a medium size post it notepad and glue this on the inside as well. For the notepad holder, put a ribbon on the bottom of the flap in order to tie it together.
Step seven: Using your computer program (I used MS Office) Start to type in each month at the top of the page, using a large font. When you are done, add the day for each birthday to that month and print out the pages.
Step eight: Cut the papers down to size, making a hole punch where you need to for the chains to go through.
Step nine: Add the chains, and a simple ribbon bow to the chain to create a cute look.
This project took me about 2 hours or less to make... The hardest part for me was taking the time to call my mom and add everyone's birthday to it from my side of the family. Allison can take the book and add Grant's family to the album as she has the time! This can be customized to each recipient, so that no two books will be alike...I hope you enjoy this project...and make sure you check back tomorrow for my last project of the week - a darling brag book for Ally to put in her purse to share her family! I have had so much fun this week - and hope you have as well! Thanks for the comments and all the love...and have a great day....now make sure you go check out Anita......!!!!!!!

Memories in Tyme
Oh my goodness - I need one of these! There are 76 people in my hubby's large family and I can never keep track! Once again, another great project!

Great idea. I finally got tired of transferring my birthdays from calendar to calendar each year and bought a birthday calendar a few years ago. Of course, a home made one is all the more meaningful.
