A while ago, my sister Allison and I were talking...about procrastination....this conversation helped me to see this trait in ME....and it needs to change!!! So Allison, I thank you - not only for the past amazing 5 months...of you sharing your life with me, and loving me and making me the person I am today..but for being the influence on me that you are.
The gifts you have seen all week, the card, the gift bag, the framed page, the birthday book and the mini album you see here - are what she will get for her birthday! I have had so much inspiration that I couldn't stop making things - so thank you for giving me reasons to scrapbook again...I look forward to making many more projects for you!!! I hope next week that you have an awesome week... You see, we lost my dad on 8/5/04 - 3 days after my birthday, and we buried him the day before Allison's birthday...so we both have bad memories of this time period. Plus I happened to be in the Salt Lake City tornado when it hit on 8/11/99...which was 6 days after my ex-husband committed suicide... Scrapbooking kept me alive, and now - it is making me happy!!!
So - this is the last project I made for her...she gave me specific instructions as to what she wanted for this book... It has to go in her purse, and can't have a lot of embellishments because it will be in a purse, but I want it to look nice too....
For my birthday, she had given me a gift card...Del took me to Michaels, where I found a pack on clearance for $9.99 from Making Memories, but it has over $50 worth of products inside each pack... I ended up coming home with over $100 worth of goodies for $20!!! I am still happy and planning some darling projects from the stuff that was bought...and can't wait to share with you the fun stuff from this pack of stuff I was able to purchase!!
For the project...(if you want specific directions, watch for a post next week about the inspiration for this album - that will have directions.....) I used a simple pink and brown color scheme, as she likes pink, and has a pink purse... The paper - though you can't see it... has raised dots all over the pink...with the back in a brown striped paper. The front of the album is simply created, using a Making Memories plate embellishment that says "Precious" on it..since the paper was already an "embellishment" as it is. On the under side of the right side of the flap is where you want to put the ribbon...I placed it under the paper so you didn't see it. I used a thin chip board for the base, covering it with paper and using a ruler to help score it. Inside the book is an accordian style album - free to add pictures of her grandkid's, or kid's, or whomever she would like!!! For quite a while, I have felt like I couldn't create for anything...and now - I have had more fun with my mom and her!!! Allison gives me the feedback I need right now for certain projects I am working on...and for that I thank her!!! Now, I am sending you one last time off to Anita.....

Your last day project is even more special because of the story:-) Keep up the awesome work for your 'therapy'. Don't know if you will see this, but I was a winner and told to watch for an email that I never got?? Just wondering?
