Hi! This is Lynda and I want to welcome you to the Scraps To Treasure Team's Monochromatic Blog Hop. Our goal at STT is to use up all our scraps and leftover embellishments to create wonderful layouts, cards and other projects. This month we are doing that using different shades of only one color. If you are here from Lucy, then you are in the right place...but if you've just showed up here to see me - make sure you go back to the beginning with is at Paula's blog listed below - because the first is always the best anyway!!!
Up for grabs is this RAK from our hostess, Paula at http://preciouspagesbypaula.blogspot.com that will be going out to one lucky hopper that is a follower of all the blogs in the hop and has left a comment for each entry.
Included in the RAK are:
10 My Mind's Eye Laundry Line Diecuts
2 Basic Grey Bling It On Rubons and Rhinestones
2 Glitz Frosting Bling
1 Martha Stewart Glitter Alphas
1 EK Success Inspirables Embellishments
1 Special Moments Embellishments
1 Treasured Memories Metal Tags
Scraps - I use them all of the time for my cards! I have yet to use a whole sheet of cardstock or patterned paper on my cards because of the scrapbook and altered projects I do! I use up everything I can - and now use my stamping with my layouts, and can use fun techniques for my cards that I have learned from scrapbooking when making my cards. I also love how this helps me to use up all the supplies I can from a project, and most of the time - not having to spend any money except for the basic supplies such as cardstock, patterned paper, stamps, die cuts, and fun embellishments!
For my entry, I opted to create a series of different cards, using some of my favorite colors - pink, purple, and blue! Each card is a different theme, all in the monochromatic color scheme! No two cards are ever alike for me - I always end up doing something different for the other card - whether that be a small detail change or the saying is changed... Using scraps for my cards also makes them more cost effective since I am not having to spend money on this part of my creating! I also make bookmarks and smaller things like tags and small cards with my scraps as well!
Starting at the card at the top (the blue card) - I used 3 different shades of blue - with the patterned paper giving it just the right kick it needed. I layered the saying with blue brads, finishing up with the punched flowers and buttons in blue for the middle of the flowers!
The first purple card was a lot of fun for me to do - first selecting the papers for the background, and then finding the piece to go on the top. I added the saying to it - and then punched 3 flowers for the top, again adding buttons for the middle of the flowers, and then finding the fun lavender flowers to go in between the others.
For the 2nd purple card, I used my awesome Paper Shaper's punches for the balloon and the cupcake - layering the cupcake various times to achieve the look! For this card, I simply used 3 brads at the bottom...totally loved the look of this card!
The first pink card was simple, but amazing! I layered the two background colors on my card - and then using my punches - created the flowers using a flower and sun punch, with the button placed in the middle. The 3rd flower was off to the side and off the card a bit... And the last pink card...Started with the color blocking of the card background, I added the saying, and the star punches for the accent - in various colors. The top and middle stars are 3D'd using small squares!
I hope that you have enjoyed stopping by and seeing this creation and now you are ready to move through the following blogs and view more great monochromatic creations.
