I want to take a few moments to say Happy Mothers Day to all of you! What does being a mom mean to you? I know I wouldn't be the person I am today if it was not for the people who stepped in when I was just a little baby and helped to raise me when my mom found out she had cancer. I wanted to document more about "being a mom", so I am working on a mini album today...will share as I get it finished up, but that is today's project for me to do - an album about being a mom!
I love being a mom...but have failed at it miserably. I should have thought about becoming a mom before I actually did it. But that's part of the problem, being single, you don't really think about it until after the fact! I wanted to talk about being a mom "then", first at 21 being single, and then 26 and 28 and married....soon to be divorced. It's bad enough being a single mom of 1 but 3...I wouldn't want to see that for my girls that's for sure.
I am also going to talk about being a "step-mom", and how hard it is to blend kids. If you check out this post, you will see an awesome post by Jada Pinkett-Smith, Will Smith's wife about blending kids. I think reading this made things a bit differently for me...and hope one day things will be different!
So, for Megan...you have turned in to quite the mom and wife! Life has treated you well, and you should be proud of the things you have accomplished recently.
For Terra...I am so glad you do not have kids of your own, and hope you make better choices than I have. You my girl was forced to grow up so much sooner than you should have - and for that I am so sorry. I thank you for taking such good care of yourself and Casey - and just want you to know how very much I love you!
For Cheryl...YOU my girl are simply awesome! In the Marines to make a life for yourself... I thank you for your service to this country - and never doubted for a moment you could make it! And a daughter of your own...she's beautiful, just like you! I hope you have a great Mothers Day today!
For Krystal...our "youngest" - the "baby" of the family twice over! Once in her family with her mom and once by her dad! The special one for sure - and the one who is simply amazing. A mom at a young age, but you showed everyone you can do it... You graduated high school, and have done a great job raising that little girl on your own.
The challenge...is to document some part of being a mom. Whether you make just a layout, or you make a mini album...document about being a mom!
