If you are just starting out in scrapbooking - but have made cards before...this post is for you! You already have a lot of things that you can do with your scrapbook pages, without having to spend a lot of money on embellishments! If you are just starting out with stamping and are looking to add it to your paper crafting - a simple ink pad, markers or colored pencils, and an image will do! You don't need a lot of things to start stamping - and by using your leftovers from other paper crafting projects, you won't have to spend a lot of money on this craft!
With Signs Of Me - I stamped a bunch of flowers on a scrap piece of paper, and then colored them in using colors that would match the papers I was using. I then cut out my title using my Coluzzle - but this can be used with any type of alphabet template you can find, or die cut machine you have available to you! Plus this stamp has been used so many times in various cards I have done - it's one of the most used flowers in my stash! One thing about stamps, you will find various ones you can use in different capacities or different themes, making it one of the most versatile tools around.
Another really easy beginner technique you can do is paper tearing, like I did with the title! This is one thing that can be used with so many different layouts and projects - and the best part about paper tearing - you don't need to spend a lot of money doing it or having to purchase a bunch of supplies just to do it! Look at the paper you select a bit differently - such as the cardstock and your patterned paper! And - as you get used to tearing different types of paper thickness, you will start to see how to tear the paper to make it look like you want. Experiment with scraps of paper - different thickness', and you will see what I mean! If you are looking at having something in a more exact shape then use water and your paint brush to help with the shape and then tear there.
Stamping is a lot of fun...you can really get in to some wonderful techniques and things to make your stuff look one of a kind - the more you get in to this! Find a home party company such as Close To My Heart or Stampin' Up where you can host a party and collect rewards from the entire show and you can learn different techniques and things! Look for coupons for your local craft stores to purchase what you can on sale! This is one craft that more families are doing together, and more men too, to be more involved in their memories!
