Today's post is just a bit different - I am trying out for the Robins Nest design team - so the projects you will see today is for them! Now, since I couldn't decide which team I wanted to try for - I decided to actually do 3 different projects - a scrapbook layout, a set of cards, and an altered project and then let them decide which one - if any - they wanted me to be a part of! Funny thing is, I also won a recent blog hop gift which was fun stuff to play with from them, so my entry today also has their remarkable papers from them! I hope you enjoy my projects!
My first project I am going to show you today started with this Pinterest pin! I don't like copying exactly to the sketch, but this one ended up being a lot like the original one yet with my own Lynda's twist! This is the first time I have been able to work with the Robins Nest papers - and will not be the last for sure!!! I am in love with the two sided paper for sure!!!
Supply list:
Robins Nest paper - Daisy Stripe Teal (both sides used)
White and yellow cardstock
Coluzzle template for circle
White and yellow ribbon
Robins Nest blue dew drops
Unknown company for the bling
Looking at the layout, the circle is actually a hidden piece, to allow for more journaling. The photos on the right is the same piece - again a hidden part to allow for more photos than just the three places shown! The photos on the left will show you the details a bit more! And the title on the bottom that you can't see very well says "I could not ask for anything more". Photos are not printed yet - I'm a bit behind in that for sure! I used the leftovers to create the next two cards - supply list as above, only I also added a few key pieces for both the cards.
Supply list for cards:
Robins Nest papers Daisy Stripe Teal
Friend vintage sentiment by Making Memories
Fiskars Paper Edgers (pink handle)
Thanks sentiment
Sizzix Sizlets Flower # 6
Blue buttons
Circle cut out left over from layout
Easy cards to do - especially with the leftovers from the layout! The card with the yellow daisy's is 6 x 6 - the friend card is a traditional size.
And for my last project today - I made an altered can... Not sure if I am going to put my candy in it - or supplies I need when I create or what yet...but it was one of my funnest projects - though I wasn't sure it would turn out that way!
With the can below, I used the following supplies...
The Robins Nest Spring Flowers Glitter Vellum paper
Sizzix Sizzlets flower #6, 7, and 8
Sizzix flower #1 and leaf stem
Basic punches - flower and sun
White and pink ribbon
Pink buttons
I covered the can - and added a small white strip of paper to add to the 6 x 12 paper. The other part of the 6 x 12 paper went to make the post it note holder above... You can tell I use as much up of the papers, and the rest goes back in my scraps for use later on with other projects such as paper piecing's, tags, and cards. I only will throw away small scraps that aren't worth much for my creating as long as I have other colors to use! With my flowers - I used up what was in my stash of stuff...I didn't want to have to die cut a bunch of flowers, I had enough to use from other ones!
Well, that's about it for me today...don't you think 4 projects in one post is enough!!! Wish me luck on the design team - and I hope you have tons of inspiration from my fun projects today!
