By far this is one of the easiest things you can do with your left over scraps and materials you have from other projects!!! Making handmade bookmarks for your friends or family - add with a special book, or handmade journal for someone who really needs it! Make as favors for an event, to add a special quote or thank you to... There are tons of things you can do with handmade bookmarks, so lets get started with the supply list and directions!
Supply list:
Scraps of paper from other projects
Embellishments - (I used a Sizzix flower and flower punch)
Paper trimmer
Corner rounder (optional)
Directions:
Step one: Trim your base for the bookmark - 2 1/8" x 6"
Step two: Cut your layer color 2" by just under 6".
Step three: (Optional) Round the corners of the 2 pieces.
Step four: Add the embellishments you want to use to the creation.
This type of thing doesn't take a long time to make - and is a lot more cost effective than purchasing one and loosing it! I also like that I can make up a bunch and send them to my mom and sisters...for their books! As you can tell - I come from a long line of readers... I hope you have enjoyed this beginner project - and make sure you come back next week for a whole new beginner project!
