Layout sketch |
Card sketch I love sketches because you can truly do many different things to them, and either change them around a bit or using the sketch exactly as you see it. Simply52 designers blog gives you different ideas from different designers to show you ways you can use the sketches that are showcased! I like to put them on the sketches side to get a totally different look to the card I am creating! This one would be fun like that! With my idea today, I used scraps from another project I was working on for my classes at Michael's. I hate to throw things away, so for me, using my leftover scrapbook supplies saves me a lot of money...and helps me to be able to make one of a kind cards for my friends and family! |
For the card shown here - I used a card base for the background, simple strips of leftover scraps in the colors that match the background, and then a simple circle Sizzix die cut made. After I attached the circle and the strips (using Glue Dots adhesive), I added the saying to the circle. I then used 3 small silver flowers as the accent pieces on the bottom to create visual interest. This card did not take me long at all to complete, it took longer to pick out the correct shades of scraps to use than anything!
You can see how using sketches can be easy, for placement of objects and just for a basic idea. I love how beginners love to use sketches to help them create, and then they learn how to take the sketch and create something unique with it, or do something different to the sketch to make it their own. I love how you can look back on this one sketch and find different projects made by designers and regular people who just love to create!
I hope you enjoy this project! I love bringing them to you! I'm already working on next weeks project, so make sure you check back next Thursday for another sketch and idea from us!
