Simply52 Designers Sketch -

I am so happy to introduce a new design team I am on, Simply52 Designers Blog, formerly known as Pencil Lines!   Sketches are wonderful to use - and this sketch is no different!!!  You also are given possible colors to use along with your creation, to make it easier to do your own thing!  As I type this, I see a fun card I can do just by using the right side of the sketch only!  Looks like I will need to play a little bit this weekend it looks like!

For the sketch - you will also find this at Simply52 Designers Blog...(link to follow)...
Sketch #1, Simply 52 Designers Blog, formerly known as Pencil Lines

My creation came together and was a lot of fun to do once I got it started!  It was one of those pictures that I have wanted to scrapbook, but no inspiration to finish actually do it!  Once I put together the background paper, the rest really came together in no time!  I used scraps for the title, circle, and the strips for the journaling.

Supplies needed:
Background paper - 1 sheet
Scraps to match, or background paper
Black marker (fine tip)
Making Memories flowers
Button
Making Memories self adhesive ribbon
Alphabet template
Circle cutter or template of your choice

Directions:
Step one:  Take the background paper you have chosen and put aside to put each step on top for adhesive at the last of the creation.
Step two:  Using scraps of ivory paper and your alphabet template, create your title.  I used 100% Girl for mine!  After you have cut the letters out, (I used a light pink and ivory) layer them using adhesive on the top of the pink to put the ivory letter on.  Set aside each of the letters.
Step three:  Using a template (or circle cutter of your choice), cut a circle for the bottom right of the layout.
Step four:  Cut the strips for the journaling.
Step five:  Find the photo you are using, cut down as needed.  Matt first in ivory and then add to the pink.  Notice in the sketch, you see the pink more on the right side - my example will not show that - but there is pink about 2" to the side.
Step six:  Start to add everything to the layout by using adhesive of your choice.  Take the adhesive ribbon and add to the side of the photo allowing more to be put at the top and bottom of the photo matt.
Step seven:  Taking your black fine tip marker, add the stitch marks around each of the letters and the circle.
Step eight:  Add your journaling to the strips of paper on the bottom of the picture.
Step nine:  Using a glue gun - add the flowers and button to the right side of the photo.

Sketches can be done in many different ways, and can make your layouts go a lot faster as you don't have to figure out how to lay out the items on your page, it's all done for you!  Pick out the colors you want to work with, the embellishments of your choice, the photos you are working with - and go to work!  This particular layout took me less than an hour to complete from the time I started it until I finished up the journaling.
I hope you enjoy this project - I will be having a few more things added in the following days - both cards and layouts...and some will be with the color selection too!  Have a great day and enjoy the sketch!
