Guest Designer for Scrappin Chicks Challenge Blog

This month, I am a guest designer for Scrappin Chicks Challenge Blog -  and I am very thankful for the opportunity!  I can't wait to tell you about this idea and how it all started!  The challenge for the month is using purple and green, adding other colors as you wish, and a Halloween theme!!!   Make sure you share with me, and with Scrappin Chicks too, we love to see what you have made from what we have created!!!!

For this project, it is my version of the altered paint can's that were all the rage a few years ago, and I couldn't afford to buy them!  Since I drink a BOATLOAD of MJB Coffee - I altered the can instead!

Here is your supply list - and basic directions...
Supply list:
Coffee can
2 sheets 12 x 12 cardstock for the can
Ribbon for the bottom
Paper piecing patterns, die cuts or stickers
Glue gun or adhesive of your choice.

Directions:
Step one:  Trim 2" off the top of both sheets of cardstock.  For the second sheet of cardstock, trim it 6".
Step two:  Using a strip of adhesive (I used a glue gun) connect one sheet to the top of the other sheet, wrapping it around the can.  You should have enough to wrap around the can entirely.
Step three:  Tuck the excess on top into the can so you see the paper.  After you are done, you can add a few sheets of tissue paper to match the creation (I am using green and purple) and add a present to the inside of it.
Step four:  Using a glue gun, wrap ribbon around the bottom of the can.
Step five:  Either create a paper piecing pattern, find fun stickers, or use die cuts - add them to the front of the can.  Try to conceal the area where the seam is - with the paper piecing's or stickers!

Now, if you missed the last project...I am doing a digital album where I will be adding photos to it!  The album will be for my kids, and I will share with you the final creation when I am done!  Make sure you go and check it out here!  I hope you enjoy this project - I have enjoyed sharing them with you!
