Digital Scrapbooking Blog Hop

lorbysworld

Do you do digital layouts? Do you want to learn? This is a blog hop to see what other people are up to in this new and creative way to preserve memories. Some of these ladies are old pros while others, like Jearise, are new to it all... but we are all crafty so there should be some great layouts to enjoy and maybe a trick or two to learn.
Please join us and hop along starting with Jearise (http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com) our hostess.

Also, we have a special digital tutorial given by Amy at http://www.lovetocrop.com/    at the end of the hop so make sure you hop through all the digital displays from our wonderful scrap bookers.

Our sponsor for this hop is My Memories Suite (http://www.mymemories.com/digital_scrapbooking_software  ). Check out their site to see beautiful layouts and just how easy it is to start digital scrap booking.

One thing I like to do is scrapbook, one thing I LOVE to do now is digital scrapbooking!  I use software from Daisy Trails - check out the review I have done here , just scroll down and look for the title within the post itself!  I love this software - great free kits, and easy to use software!  They have a newer version than the one I have now, but I love using it!

You can also take a piece of one kit, and add to a piece of another one, and create your own kits from the items you have downloaded.  The prices on their normal kits are not expensive, and they are just darling let me tell you!  However, our wonderful hostess is giving away My Memories Suite software for FREE - I also have this software, and I love to use it as well!  In fact, when I did the review for them, I worked on a fun class from Big Picture Scrapbooking using a word a day from 12 different teachers and used this software!  Loved the class - and totally love digital scrapbooking!  Now for the idea of the day!

Left side

I never realized the decisions I had made in my own personal life could have affected my daughter the way that it did.  I look back and really had no clue what I was doing in life.  I made one bad decision after another, and ultimately brought a man in my life - and my children's lives - that really shouldn't have been a part of them...   This layout is dedicated to my daughter - who helped me to see more than she knows on a recent trip to see her!

Right side
Since purple is the color of domestic violence, I chose to use this as the background color.  I added a simple black title, and simple black scrolling (which I normally wouldn't do because it is too intricate, but the look is beautiful!   I didn't want any type of embellishments, instead I used a simple ribbon bow, with the journaling for the right side of the layout.

Domestic violence affects more than we know, and it takes years to overcome the negative words, the negative actions, the bruises...  When people say "they don't know" that they are in something like this - believe them, because really - they don't understand.  It has truly taken me years to heal from my past, and had no clue what I did - and the decisions that I had made would affect her as bad as they did.  I am sad, and realize it will again take me years to overcome this as well.  Domestic violence needs to stop, and if someone you love is going through this - please go to Domestic Violoence.org for more information.  Please try to talk to the person who you feel is going through it - if they won't listen, then ...as hard as this is to say - please love that person enough to help them to help themselves.

I am so glad that I started scrapbooking, digital scrapbooking helps me to document things I want to as they happen in my head, no searching for paper, the perfect photo and embellishment to do the layout, it's all in my computer!  Now, next up in the hop is my wonderful friend Amy...whose talents are simply amazing!   I hope you have enjoyed this hop as much as I have had in hopping with these very talented ladies!  Whether you digi scrap - or paper scrap, just DO IT!!!
