Today, I am sharing a Design Team layout and card that I have made using the sketch above! Make sure you go check out Simply52 blog because she has a great challenge using this sketch! For the card, I simply used the top part of the sketch - minus the title portion! For the colors in the layout, I chose to use the pink and mint green shades that are showcased here in the sketch! I added a bit of silver "bling" to make the layout pop!
Supplies:
1 sheet patterned paper for the background
White cardstock for matting photo
2 sheets of patterned paper
1 sheet solid paper
Flower w/brad
Brads
Alphabet "bling"
Directions:
Step one: Cut the pink piece to go under the photo. Set aside on top of the background paper.
Step two: Add the photo on white cardstock and then trim. Add on pink paper and then the green.
Step three: Trim 2 small 1/2" wide lengths of the same patterned paper you used on the photo matt.
Step four: Add the pink paper on the top portion of the layout. Add the photo matt on top, with the two pieces of patterned paper on the side.
Step five: Add the "bling" alphabet letters to the bottom of the layout.
Step six: On the top and bottom of one of the strips of paper, add 2 silver brads.
Step seven: Add the flower and brad to the bottom of the photo.
Supplies:
Card base
Solid paper
2 different shades of patterned paper (pink)
Brown patterned paper
Ivory cardstock
Saying stamp
Image stamp
Brown ink
Directions:
Step one: Starting with the pink solid paper, cut to size and add to the card base.
Step two: Add a pink patterned paper on the top of the solid pink piece, and adhere to the card.
Step three: Trim 2 strips of brown paper for the side, adhere to the card.
Step four: Add a brad to one of the strips on the top and bottom.
Step five: Using a brown ink pad and ivory cardstock, add the stamped images to the cardstock.
Step six: Matt on a different pink patterned paper, and then the brown patterned paper as well. Add to the card.
So you can see how easy it is to take a basic sketch and tweak it to what you want it to be! I love this sketch, and how easy it is to use patterned paper and make a fun layout or card with it. I hope you enjoy this project, and make sure you share with us what you have done!
