Happy Birthday left side |
This layout was one of the funnest layouts I have done and wanted to share it with you! The "birthday boy" is my youngest son, born on 12/26...he just graduated high school...so this is for HIM! I had talked to Pebbles in my Pocket one day, and a few days later a package arrived, of tons of fun stickers for me to play with! At the time I was living in Utah, and tried to get my "scrapbooking" endeavor out...to no avail! When the package arrived, I knew just what to do with this set of birthday stickers!
Supplies:
Cardstock - 2 sheets for the background
2-3 sheets for the photos
Birthday related stickers
Fine tip marker
Happy Birthday right side |
Ruler
Square template
Pencil
Directions:
Step one: Select the background paper you are using, place in front of you side by side. This is where you will put each of the next steps on the appropriate side as you finish them!
Step two: Starting with the title, make the borders for the layout as shown in the example. To make it easier, use a ruler that has a metal edge in order for you to put the stickers on in the correct order. This helps with placement of the stickers, and making sure you have enough room for each word. Trim and matt the border, the largest color was 2" in height.
Step three: Looking at the photos you are using - start to look at photos that can be grouped together, and what can't. You will need 2 that should be a smaller size (see the left side bottom example) and then 3 that are bigger. If your paper is 8.5 x 11 (like the example) you would want your photos each to be about 3" in width to allow a bit of white to show up underneath. Trim any photos that you need to.
Step four: Looking at the examples above, start to matt the photos, using a coordinating color. I like to use white or cream as the first color, sometimes matting it with another one - but this one was only done with the one color. For the left side of the layout - I used 2 borders with the photos exact in cut in them; on the right side of the layout the photos that are not exact in size. Using the square template, check to see what you need to trim off the photos in order to get 5 photos on the first page.
Step five: Start to add the photos and borders to both sides, leaving room for the fun embellishments. I love to use Glue Dots adhesive products for my scrapbook and card projects that I do.
Step six: Add the stickers or die cuts you have selected to the page. If you have used balloons, use the fine tip marker to create the tails underneath.
This project is easy to do - especially if you pick up a quick Birthday related sticker set, or use a die cut machine to create your own. The hardest part will be trimming the photos to be exact! I hope you enjoy, and make sure you show me what YOU did!
