I have been with my current husband now for over 10 years...usually on Valentines Day we don't do much of anything... to us, it brings back bad memories from our pasts...so it is better to spend this day as any other would be spent. So, I used themed paper I already had in a different way...let me explain! As I was working on my All About Me album, I stumbled across this paper, meant more for Valentines Day. I used it for my Top 10 because I love to scrapbook as much as I do!
This page can be simply recreated in a Valentines page using photos of you and your spouse, since that holiday is coming up soon...instead of the photos I used of my scrapbook area! I used a bright - printed background paper, with red, white and pink as the accent colors. For the tassels on the tags, I added black floss to the other colors to tie it all together. Sizzix die cuts were used for the hearts and tags, with simple alpha stickers for the title. I also had some heart eyelets I wanted to use, so this was added to the journaling portion of the page to tie everything together.
For the journaling, this (for me) had to be handwritten - because it was such a personal page! One the main page, I added simple journaling about why I scrapbook...and on page two, I used the top 10 reasons I scrapbook! My "top 10's" were meant to be a bit on the funny side, though it is hard to get that when you write! **Tip** When doing journaling with your handwriting, use a soft pencil first to journal the words in order to make sure you have enough room on the paper for what you want to say. Use a simple ruler to add the lines in order to make the words straight! Go over the words with your marker, erasing the pencil marks you can see after you are done.
So...your challenge for the weekend is to either use themed paper in something other than that theme OR do a 10 Ten layout of your choice! Please send me a link to the layout you have created...you might see yours showcased on my blog!
