I love my cat Tygress...Del and I have had her since she was born, so she is part of the family...at times, she is wonderful and loving...and at other times....can you say "biatch"...I know I can! But seriously, doing layouts of her and the boys have been a lot of fun....they are always around us and are seriously a part of our lives! Tygress was born in September 2000, this year she will be 11! She has been with us as long as my husband and I have been together!
In this layout, I love how the lettering is for the title...in strips down the side, with the alphabet letters making up each word...easily customized to be what YOU want, not what I do! On each separate title, I used a brad, and also on the tag on the 2nd page to match it all. I like to use one thing on both sides to tie it all in together...in this page, I created a couple of tags with cat themed buttons, to create the look and feel of the layout itself. For me, I scrapbook with what I have available...I don't spend a ton of money, but I make sure the layouts look good when I am done. I add a bit of journaling to each layout I do, to talk about the photos themselves...though the title helps too! I like things to flow and tell the story, not the embellishments and papers to tell it. Everyone's style is different...look at different things people have done to get a feel for what YOU like. Now, look beyond the layout itself...there are so many times that people look at the the theme and photos, instead of looking at the colors, or maybe the placement of the items...or how a tag is made. By tweaking things, you get a one of a kind item because you aren't using the same things I use...maybe you will place things differently. At first, learn to copy...as you learn more things, interchange them.....have fun. There is no right or wrong way to scrapbook, it's just important to DO it!
I hope you enjoy this layout too...
