In the past few weeks, I have given you a few ideas to keep track of the events in your life such as birthdays, anniversaries, and showers to name a few. This is my last idea, actually one of my favorites! It is going to be hung up on our fridge, so my husband can see what is coming up each month! I can add what I need to each month such as holidays, birthdays or anniversaries, and add to it when new events come up, such as birth's and marriages! This way, it is easy to change if events change, and if I decide to change the colors of my kitchen!
The paper I selected is from a pack I found at Michaels that was on sale last week for 40% off! There are 180 sheets of paper in it, this is just the first part of what has been made out of that particular shopping trip! I cut the flowers from the top out of the paper I had used, putting a decorative brad in the middle of it, putting it on the top of the flap! This is actually a very easy project to complete...but looks like it was harder! Use a kit you received from a recent purchase...or put together the items based on the supply list... either way, it is sure to please everyone in your house!
Supplies:
Base - (I used packing materials in things that I have purchased.....flat cardboard type stuff)
Paper - 2 sheets for the base
6 sheets for the months
Embellishments of your choice
Brads including 2 flat brads to hold each month
Marker or alphabet stickers for the months
Magnet (optional - if you want to hang on fridge)
Glue gun and adhesive
Ruler
Small hole punch
Directions:
Step one: Taking your choice of base piece, cut it to a size of 6.5 x 9.5. Add paper to the base with adhesive to cover it. The back will not be seen if you hang on fridge. I used 2 different coordinating patterns for my base, one a bit smaller than the other.
Step two: Working on the flap, you need a piece that is 3 x 5 to fold in half. I used one sheet of the 2 coordinating papers on each side before I folded in half. Using a small hole punch cut 2 holes that are exact to put the brads through. The holes were punched 1/2" from the bottom, 1.5" from each side on this as well as each month. Fold in half before starting the next step.
Step three: Taking step two's piece, add it to the top putting the brads underneath where the adhesive from the glue gun will go. This way, you have the brad part sticking out to put your pages through, and it won't go anywhere! Make sure you put the glue from the glue gun on and the piece on quickly, I used a ruler to make sure it was straight.
Step four: Taking the 6 sheets of cardstock, cut them in half creating 12 sheets 5.5 x 8.5. Cut holes in the top of each page to match the brads. Cut strips of paper to add to the bottom. I used both coordinating sheets, every other month for each page.
Step five: Taking your marker, create each month - adding the dates you need to each of them.
Step six: After finishing up the months, add the embellishments to the top of the flap to create visual interest. I used 4 flowers with brads on the top of the flap, cutting from one of the papers I used.
Step seven: (Optional) Add the magnet to the back of the base to be able to hang it on a fridge or other item such as this so you can see what events are coming up.
This is the last of the planners I wanted to show to you! I hope you have gotten a lot of ideas from all of them...and hope you make one of your own! Make sure you check out the other posts, for all of the ideas!
