Last month, in this post, I started a monthly challenge, to help those of you who are busy to be able to complete 2 layouts a month. It is important to document the times in your life that make you who you are, little events such as birthdays and anniversaries...down to the various snow days you had to deal with because of the wild weather! I hope by now you have checked out various album sizes, and have started to keep track of things from each month. Scrapbooking can be hard if you make it that way, or it can be easy and therapuetic if you also let it, this type of album is designed to be easy for you.
The album I am working on, will have more journaling than pictures at first...how do you document bad things that happen to you in your life with photos? You don't...you try to find ways to document things that people can understand, but not be the sole purpose of the ablum itself. As my album progresses, it will have more photos...but at first it will be more journaling. Keep in mind, even if you didn't take pictures at an event, maybe someone else did, at least journal what you can, and add the photos down the line as you can.
If you have taken photos on your phone, download them to your computer and get them printed, or do digital layouts instead of traditional paper scrapbooking for this album... you actually might get more pages done! When you are finished, make it into a book, there are tons of book binding places that you can go to such as Shutterfly, LuLu.com and others! Find the one that is perfect for you, and can handle what you need...I am actually doing a recipe album for all of my cousins for Mothers Day, which is also around the time of my Grandmothers Birthday...the recipe's were our grandma's! It is in the planning and working stages now, having to scan each recipe in to the computer and put in folders for each section, plus picking out the digital papers and things I am using. However, this is the fun part, the planning, it is the getting the album done that will truly be a work of the heart!
So, as you see, you can journal on the computer...and then add it to the the album. Make it fun.....it's about getting the memories out on paper, not about the price you spent on the supplies, or having the album be perfect! This type of album is great for those of you who do work...or are busy. Grab some of your photos, look back on your status' or blog posts for the month, and add a few things from there! Keep track of each month, and the fun events you have...and make sure to take a few photos along the way!
