Adding jewelry to your layouts can be fun to do, espcecially items you were given from someone who is passed on. This is my Grandma Tuckett...my mom's mom, my favorite grandma! Whenever you went around her and Grandpa, you felt as if you were the most special thing in the world, no matter who was there, or how many was there. This watch, was hers...it needed to be in a special layout, not just stuck in my jewelry box. I miss my her so much, as does the rest of the family I am sure... Times are different now, we don't see the "family" as often as we would like, the family reunions are gone - now that Grandma has passed on. Plus when you don't live in the area anyway...it's hard to get together and establish relationships with people when you are so far away.
Side two of the layout was journaling about Grandma, her wearing only that watch - and her wedding ring, but not much more as far as jewelry was concerned. The tags were made from my Sizzix die cut, and a button set that was purchased a long time ago. I loved the hat on the bottom tag, and the flowers...how everything matched! i chose colors of cardstock that matched the embellishments, concentrating on the purple, green and cream color scheme. The title was done using the Quickutz system that my sister has...adding just a thin strip of creat at the top underneath the lettering. What you can't see really, is the purple cardstock is trimmed just a bit smaller than the cream...so the cream is the base color, with the other two as accents. I used bits of color from each of the colors when I finished up the tags as it was needed. The whole thing was about the watch - and I achieved the look I wanted...but using a black and white photo certainly helped!
I hope you enjoy this layout...look at your photos and things differently, like in this layout. I could have done a traditional layout - talking about grandma, but I wanted to showcase something more special...more HER. This is one of my favorites that I have done not only of her, but also of my layouts!
