Beginner Layout - With a Challenge

When you are first starting out scrapbooking and making cards, you want your projects to look nice, but not take a lot of time to accomplish it!  You want to be able to learn how - without spending a lot of time doing it!  My beginner projects are meant to do just that - with you tweaking to what you have - or your own style!  For this project - I used one photo, with the age I was...and then 42 random things about me written on the two pages.   Basic supply list: 2 sheets background paper 2 sheet coordinating patterned paper 1 sheet (or scraps) white cardstock Scraps for punch's Rub-on's Daisy punch (can substitute) Brads Template for numbers Black fine tip marker Directions:   Step one:  Decide the "number" you are using and start to write down things to go with the theme you have selected.   Step two:  Matt one photo on patterned paper and white cardstock.   Step three:  If using a punch, punch 13 daisy's of 2 dif...

Beginner Project -

Each week I am going to try to bring you some sort of a beginner project - either a layout, mini album that is easy to make, card, or altered project that is easy enough if you are just starting out.  There are many things you can do to keep your creating costs down - one of which is keeping your scraps!  Find some sort of container you can use - for me, I have them in file folders by color - so I can grab just the specific file I need for the project I might be working on. As you start to do cards, your scraps will come in handy to create one of a kind creations!  This was made with the Thinking of You stamp, and then a bit of ribbon to add to the corner of the card!  Very simple, yet looks really nice.   With the Thanks card - again, using a simple Thanks stamp - and scraps of paper from another project along with a heart die cut and punch - using scraps to punch and die cut the pieces necessary.  A very simple card pack can be bought which has the card ...

Creative Paperclay Flowers

I am so excited to bring you my very first project for you guys for my Creative Paperclay - I hope to bring you a lot of different inspiration for your scrapbooks and cards!  I love to alter things - using clay as a great 3 dimensional embellishment versus purchasing my own!  With this clay - I love how I can paint on it, and with my Radiant Pearls paint (no longer on the market) I can emboss on it as well!   With the cards I create, I use scraps left over from other paper crafting projects that I have done, making them way more cost effective than purchasing them at the store.  I used left over papers from this project to complete the red card using the other side of the papers!   I rounded the corners on the top mat - and embossed the saying on the front of the paper!  For the flower I started with the Creative Paperclay product and a mold I had for the flower.  I used Radiant Pearls paint to create the look I wanted, and though the scan d...

Robins Nest

Today's post is just a bit different - I am trying out for the Robins Nest design team - so the projects you will see today is for them!  Now, since I couldn't decide which team I wanted to try for - I decided to actually do 3 different projects - a scrapbook layout, a set of cards, and an altered project and then let them decide which one - if any - they wanted me to be a part of!  Funny thing is, I also won a recent blog hop gift which was fun stuff to play with from them, so my entry today also has their remarkable papers from them!  I hope you enjoy my projects!     My first project I am going to show you today started with this Pinterest pin!   I don't like copying exactly to the sketch, but this one ended up being a lot like the original one yet with my own Lynda's twist!  This is the first time I have been able to work with the Robins Nest papers - and will not be the last for sure!!!  I am in love with the two sided paper for sure!!! ...

Scrapping With Lisa Designs - Design Team Project

For my project today - I wanted to do something that had more "hidden journaling" because of what I wanted to write down...  My kids are my life...and the underneath part was the " Don't Judge " me girl from Lisa's Designs which you can find by clicking the link on!  Lisa's designs are so versatile - using them for a card, or a scrapbook type of layout like this one!   My project is going to be a framed page - without the glass in the front so you can lift up the front piece and see the hidden journaling part!  I love using paper piecing patterns, and this one is no different!  I'm going to do a fun birthday card using her - with a present in her hand and maybe strings with a balloon or something!

Monthly Reminder -

Well, I hope these little reminders push you to look at the events you have coming up - in order to get more done like they do me!  I have started to get more things done because I have started to make a list!  That list might - or might NOT get completed, but for the most part, if something is actually on my list - then I look at more than if it's just sitting around in my head "thinking" about it - LOL!   One of the things I need to get done is a project that has been on my list of "things to do" for the past couple of years!  I now have the time to get it done and am glad of the progress I have made so far!  It is a special project of the heart - my Grandma Tuckett's recipe's!  Her birthday would have been on Monday 5/13, this album is for my kids and the rest of the family members that want a copy of it!   I am also working on Fathers Day projects...Framed pages for my brothers, brother-in-law and my husband, along with cards!  S...

Happy Birthday Grandma Tuckett

Today would have been my Grandma's birthday!  Like everyone's grandma - she was simply the BEST!!!!  She passed away in August of 1998, a year after I moved back home from Denver.  Grandma made everyone feel loved...even my daughter remembers bits and pieces about her Great-Grandma from that year of being home.  I never thought I could miss someone so bad - as I do her and Grandpa!  Grandpa died when Terra was just 6 months old - so she never knew him...  The heart of Grandma's home was the kitchen, that's for sure...that's why I am making her recipe's into an album for my kids, which has turned into making it for all the extended family!   So today, in celebration of Grandma's birthday - I want you to make a birthday card!  Add it to your stash of cards, or make one for a special someone for an upcoming birthday!  I don't have a lot of birthday's now until August and September so I am planning on getting some made before then...so they at ...

Happy Mothers Day - With a Challenge!

I want to take a few moments to say Happy Mothers Day to all of you!  What does being a mom mean to you?  I know I wouldn't be the person I am today if it was not for the people who stepped in when I was just a little baby and helped to raise me when my mom found out she had cancer.  I wanted to document more about "being a mom", so I am working on a mini album today...will share as I get it finished up, but that is today's project for me to do - an album about being a mom!   I love being a mom...but have failed at it miserably.  I should have thought about becoming a mom before I actually did it.  But that's part of the problem, being single, you don't really think about it until after the fact!  I wanted to talk about being a mom "then", first at 21 being single, and then 26 and 28 and married....soon to be divorced.  It's bad enough being a single mom of 1 but 3...I wouldn't want to see that for my girls that's for sure.   I am...

Using Stamps With Your Paper Crafting

If you are just starting out in scrapbooking - but have made cards before...this post is for you!  You already have a lot of things that you can do with your scrapbook pages, without having to spend a lot of money on embellishments!  If you are just starting out with stamping and are looking to add it to your paper crafting - a simple ink pad, markers or colored pencils, and an image will do!  You don't need a lot of things to start stamping - and by using your leftovers from other paper crafting projects, you won't have to spend a lot of money on this craft!   With Signs Of Me - I stamped a bunch of flowers on a scrap piece of paper, and then colored them in using colors that would match the papers I was using.  I then cut out my title using my Coluzzle - but this can be used with any type of alphabet template you can find, or die cut machine you have available to you!  Plus this stamp has been used so many times in various cards I have done - it's one o...

May Technique - Stamping

Okay ladies, if you can scrapbook - you can stamp...and if you stamp, you can scrapbook!!!  I started out making cards over 22 years ago, using a simple card pack, color pencils and a Disney stamp to create my daughter's birth announcements!  Today, I use stamps for my cards and my scrapbook pages in so many different forms...  This month we are going to do more with our stamps... showcasing the different things you can do with them, as well as ways you can save money when you use stamps!   To get started, you will want to have a basic toolbox kit - added to your scrapbooking toolbox kit!  You might find a few other "tools" that are necessary for your kit - and some of what I list not "as" necessary.  Please know this is just a guideline for you to start with - and the supplies will grow as you grow!  Basic toolbox:  Stamps Ink pads  Card packs Chalks White eraser Bone folder Ruler Embossing powder Embossing gun Corner rou...

Scrapping with Lisa Designs - Design Team Project

With today's layout, I'm going to start with the particulars first - then the story behind the layout!  I feel the story behind the layouts are sometimes more important than the layouts themselves, but that is just my own personal opinion!  For me, I really like working with Lisa's designs as they are so versatile, and can be used in so many different ways!  After this project, I have a fun card planned with the pieces you will find here - being able to customize it to the school colors for the recipient - and maybe even adding a few thank you cards for the person to send out as well!!!  Plus I can use the full sized patterns for paper piecing a fun framed page when I actually get the prints for this wonderful day!  With this particular piece, I used 2 different patterns, both listed below: Scrapping with Lisa Designs patterns -       Graduate      Congrats Digital scrapbook paper - red I Believe in You saying - (digit...
