Signs of me - use of stamps with scrapbooking

My background with creating started with making cards first - making my first project when I was pregnant with my daughter - it was her birth announcements made out of cardstock, a Disney stamp and colored pencils to color the images in!  How much fun did I have in making that first project - which resulted in me learning how to scrapbook!  This layout - is one from my All About ME project - signs of me and who I am!!!  This list has changed for sure - I'm in school now, and don't have all the little "toys" like I used to...but moving around a lot has made it so you don't have as much of the little things left!
For this layout - I used the Coluzzle alphabet template, though you can use anything you would like to create a background out of stamps for your creation!  If you are using a cutting system such as the one I used or a basic alphabet template, you would only need to stamp part of the paper to create what you need for the title, stamp the letters last.
I then chose to use paper tearing for the background of the title - altering the colors for each of the sides.  This is a simple technique that a beginner can do - tear paper to create accent pieces or unique looks to your pages!!!  Since the background paper was so "loud" as it was, the background paper for the photos was the same colors in the background paper to make it simple!  For the die cut - I put a simple white background behind the computer (for a computer screen), and cut out small punch pieces to add to it for the icons.  I then used my own handwriting and a black fine tip marker to create the little affects on the computer screen and naming the icons themselves.
For the journaling - I used my own handwriting with  little "things" that are me!  I still have a phone connected to my ear - I still drink too much Pepsi - and I still have my computer turned on!!!  Some of the things like the dolls and Cherished Teddies are not with me anymore, but I do have the memories - and the "signs" of me!
I challenge you today to do one of two things...

  1. Use either your alphabet template, or an electric die cut machine of your choice, and create a layout of your choice - but use stamps for the background!!!
  2. Do your own Signs Of Me layout or project!
If you put your creation on your blog, please share the link with me!!!  If you put it in a gallery - Google has a free program you can use called Picasa that you can add it to - make sure you send me a link and comment here for a chance for a free goodie from me!!!  I have had a lot of great winners lately, and a few more coming up...comments are always greatly appreciated!!!  I hope you enjoy your day - and this fun project...it will be all about using Alphabet templates in different ways this week!!!  I hope you join me!
