Spring

Spring is finally here, things are starting to turn green, the trees are starting to have buds on them that will soon turn into leaves.  The birds are back, the squirrls are always around...and in our area, we even have a family of fox that live close by!   You can tell everyone in our complex is starting to get their porches looking nice, spending more time outside is more prevalent, especially when the weather is nice and warm.   Here in Colorado, it feels warmer than it really is...even in 60 degree weather, it still feels nice and warm outside!
This layout reflects those nice spring days, where the flowers are starting to bloom and look pretty, and there might be a little cloud or two floating by!  This two page spread can be tweaked for just about anything, or simply add the title of your choice somewhere on the clouds.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - 2 sheets blue cardstock for the background
1 mint green cardstock for the accent color
2 white cardstock for accent colors
Scraps of paper for the punches in various colors that match
Crimper
Die cuts - clouds
               frame
               tags
Various flower punches
Ribbon & floss
Yellow eyelets
Rubber stamp - pot for the flowers
Trimmer or scissors

Directions:
Step one:  Take the blue cardstock, set aside to put each individual step on after you have completed it.
Step two:  Die cut the tags, frame and clouds, putting the items on the page it belongs to.
Step three:  Cut 3 squares 2" x 2" in green cardstock, crimp the square.  Matt the green square on a white square that is just a bit bigger than the green shape.  Set aside.
Step four:  Cut a white strip 2" x 8.5 for the bottom border, matt it with green cardstock.  Using the inside of the frame - matt a piece of white cardstock on the top for the accent piece on the right side that looks like the topper.
Step five:  Using the punches you have selected, punch a bunch of flowers out for the tags, squares and the topper.  Cut the stems out with either a trimmer or scissors to make it easier.
Step six:  Using the layout as a guide, start to place the flowers you have selected, leave a few extra's for the tags to be done in the next step.  Using eyelets on some of the flowers, and on each of the squares, add the eyelet to the middle of the flowers.
Step seven:  Taking the rubber stamp (or find a paper piecing pattern of a pot), and start to create the pot for the flowers to go in on the tags.  Add the flowers, making sure to add quite a few to each tag.  Using the ribbon and floss, create the tassles for the ends of the tags.
Step eight:  Put it all together as shown on the example, (or your choice of placement...) using the adhesive of your choice.  My adhesive of "choice" is Glue Dots brand adhesive, and used for this project.

I hope you enjoy this fun project...I am planning on sharing a few different layouts made with punches and adding a few different techniques to it!  I hope you enjoy the layouts this week!  As usual, tweak to your needs and share with me what you have done!
