It's been a while since I really got along with my family... not that I don't love them, because I do...we all just had "life happen"! I've started this album I'm not sure how many times, to only put it back down and not finish it up, at the time I wasn't ready for it. However, Mom's birthday is this coming up Saturday...the day before Easter, and she will be at my sisters house to celebrate her birthday! This album was made with lots of love for her on her special day, to show her that her children love her! It is designed so that each of her children can add their own favorite memories on, so mom and all of us can always remember the fun times of our life, not the bad!

Buttons - various colors
Buttons - themed
Alpha stickers
Black fine tip marker Alpha stamps

Step one: Decide how you want the project to look. You will need 4 sheets of 5 different colors, the first two will be for the front and back cover. Take 2 of each set of colors, going through the entire stack. Place aside for now.
Step two: Taking some of the extra paper, and extra paper that matches the project, start to die cut the flowers and leaves for the entire project. Cut out plenty, you can always use the extra's for other projects. Page 9 |
Step four: Taking some of the flowers and leaves, place your picture and title combination towards the top of the page, adding the flowers and leaves at the bottom of the page.
Page 10 |
Step six: Taking the alpha stamps, create the names for each of the pages. I used a very old stamp set...use your favorite! Emboss in black powder (or whatever you'd like). Cut to fit the name, setting aside for the next few steps.
Page 11 |
Step seven. Taking the first name and pages four and five and start to work on them. Using a coordinating paper, matt the name putting brads around, and a pocket in the ivory cardstock to go underneath the name. This will allow you to put tags in them for journaling, and either a picture on top, or more journaling! Add the flowers and leaves. For the right side of the layout, add two places for photos, flowers and leaves, set aside.

Step nine: Repeat step seven.
Step ten: Repeat step seven.
Step eleven: Repeat step seven...
**Tip**If you only have 3 kids, you only need to do step seven a total of three times. This part will need to be customized to you and your situation directly.

Step twelve: Page 14 and 15 does not have a title; for the left side of the layout, have a place for a photo, or journaling. I added two flowers to the left side of the layout, a third on the right hand corner. Going into the right side of the layout, I added two places for the recipient to customize. Again, I added two more flowers on the bottom, and another on the top left side. In this example, I used a pop dot to raise two of the flowers, one on each side.

Step thirteen: For pages 16 and 17 take your trimmer and trim small pieces to look like stems on flowers. Add a few flowers on the bottom of the page, and another on the right side. Add photos to the places where you need to, and journaling to the others, or leave blank for the recipient to create.

Step fifteen: Create the back cover by using 1 sheet of paper, and an accent paper only. I used a simple stamp set that I put on the backs of all my cards, which says "Designed by Lynda".
Page 17 |
Step seventeen: Start to add the buttons to the flowers. Some of the flowers I used punch pieces...and others I used buttons. Decide what looks good for your creation, and start to hot glue them on the page itself. Make sure to keep the glue gun on for the next step!
Page 18 |
Step eighteen: Take each of the pages and put the back to back..page one with page two, page three with page four and so on. Using your hot glue gun, glue them each back to back.
Step nineteen: Take a small ruler, a pencil, and a hole punch - using the ruler, start on the first two set of pages. On the left side of the page, starting about 3/4" in, make a hole punch going across the side. Repeat for the other 10 pages so that each hole you punch is in line with the other one.
Step twenty: Using ribbon, thread through each of the ten pages to bind them together. Leave enough room to have a knot at the end, with room to move the pages. I would suggest using basic ribbon, lace tends to stick more! Page 20 |

I hope you enjoy this album...with Mothers Day coming up, I thought this would be a great addition to that fun time! She will get another one on that day...for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren! I hope you share what YOU make!
