Wow, it has been one heck of a ride the past few years, let me tell you...not only in my scrapbooking, but in my personal life. I started school in January, 2009 - at first to be a graphic artist in order to learn the program Photo Shop. I wanted to be able to create my own paper line eventually...as school was finished anyway. My dreams were huge, I just wanted to create...
Flash forward 2 years later...my general education classes are done...now working on my "degree" classes. My degree went from a Graphic Artist, to Multimedia Design and Development to include web design, blog designs, graphic artist, and game designer if I wanted to... My dreams went from just wanting to design my own paper line, to wanting to design web sites and blogs for people...oh, and if I can do the "dream" of my own paper line sometime, well, I can handle that too!
I went from a tried and true paper scrapper to trying digital projects and loving it. I am starting a project from the heart, and will share with you my work along the way. A digital album to be sent to all of my cousins...Grandma Tuckett's Recipe's! My first "digital album"... My plans are simple, I will be using the software from Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 (check out the review I have done here...), adding parts from different free kits to create the album itself. I'm not into spending a lot of money, let me tell you...this software makes it easy to create neat digital items, and print out items to use on your pages.
So...the challenge for the weekend....if you paper scrap, go on over to Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 web site Daisy Trail and download their free version of software. Download just one kit and create something; it doesn't matter what you create, just create something.
If you digital scrap...I want you to do just one paper project, an altered journal - a card for someone, or even just a small mini album for a gift for Mothers Day...do something you haven't done before!
Right now, I am working on 3 albums...all due by Mothers Day!!! All three projects are truly a work of the heart; something that I have wanted to do, but just couldn't at the time. Now is the "time"... The first - a mini album for my mom of her grandkids and great-grandkids; an album for my sister of kids and grandkids, and my Grandmothers recipe's.
Two of the projects are paper, the recipe album is digital! The hardest part of doing the recipe album, is picking out what I want to use, cutting and scanning the recipe's, and finding photos to use! With the paper albums, I can use what products I have available to me...and create from there!
Enjoy your weekend...I know I have three whole days off from school, so I'm spending the weekend scrapbooking the two projects I need to! The good thing about the Mothers Day album for the recipe's...that can be emailed to one person, who can then email it to everyone else. Grandma would have wanted everyone to have her recipe's...I'm just the one to showcase them in a fun way! Off to play, have a great day folks!
