I love to make mini albums...from the time I figured out how, I have loved them! For me, I have always had to scrapbook cheaply.....by that I mean I have had to use each and every item and use it wisely to be able to continue to create more things! This year is no different, however, I am going to teach you guys all that I have learned in the past 20 years...to be able to help you create like me!
So, lets get started on your New Years Resolutions mini album! The album will look like the one pictured here.... I show this particular picture to give you an idea of what it will look like, and to give you another take on the old "New Years Resolutions" idea! For this one, I made the album at the beginning of the year with a place to put journalling as I learned the item. Switch it up to add one resolution on each page, and make sure you add a place to journal the end result at the end of the year!
Supplies needed:
6 x 12 cardstock (for the base)
2 sheets of 8.5 x 11 cardstock
Misc. papers and cardstock to go with the base
Various ribbon
Flowers or whatever embellishments you like
Brads or eyelets
Alphabet stickers for title
Anything else you'd like to add to the album
The paper I use is from American Crafts double sided cardstock. It is much heavier than basic paper, and has two sides you are able to create with.....one has a patterned side, the other is a solid side. The papers I chose to work with coordinates with what the cover looks like, this way it all flows together! The embellishments are all things I already had, that matched what it is I was working on.
Basic directions to create the mini album:
Step one: Take the 6 x 12 sheet of cardstock (can be double sided paper as well) and fold in half.
Step two: Take the 8.5 x 11 sheet of cardstock, and trim it to just below 6" on the side of the paper. Fold in half to create the book.
Step three: Take a hole punch and punch 2 holes in the top of the album to put the ribbon through it. thread the ribbon and create a bow on the top of the album.
Step four: Start to create the top of your album using the supplies that you have chosen.
Step five: Create the inside pages using the inside front cover, 8 pages in the middle and inside back cover of the album with the items of your choice.
This album can be made with journalling and embellishments and maybe a photo or two if you want to...a way to put into words what it is you want to showcase. The best part about mini albums....it is a project you are able to finish up in no time! Please share with me your take on this fun album... The challenge for you is to actually scrapbook your resolutions...to get them out on paper as to what you want to accomplish! I hope you enjoy this New Year....and join me for fun projects!
