Everyone has them, monthly events to keep track of, things like birthdays and anniversaries... Once you are older and start to have a family of your own, how do you keep track of the events YOU have? Here is one idea, made out of recycled file folders, one for each month! Each of the pages are in different colors, with 2 holes punches to allow ribbon through it, or whatever you can find that would work good. On the back of each page, is a blank page, in order to allow for names and dates for that month. For the file folders, I cut those straight in half in order to create 2 months out of each folder. This way, I can create my cards early, and place them in the month I need to for use later on. So, lets get started with the supplies and directions of this fun little project!
Supplies needed:
6 file folders cut in half and the top part cut off as well
12 sheets of paper, coordinating colors
6 sheets of 8.5 x 11 cardstock cut in half for the backs
Misc. embellishments to finish up the creation
Ribbon to tie each month together
Alphabets to create the lettering for the months
Directions:
Step one: Cut file folders in half, and then the top part where the tab comes up to create 2 pieces the same size. You will then have 12 cardstock pieces.
Step two: Cut the paper to size. Starting on the left side, place the file folder on it, and wrap the paper around to the other side. Make sure you put a thin strip of glue on the side of the file folder so your cards don't come out.
Step three: Take a hole punch and punch two holes on the side to put the ribbon through, this way, you know where to place the other aspects.
Step four: Take a sheet of white cardstock, and place it on the back to allow for the names and dates.
Step five: Using the embellishments and alphabets, start to create each of the months from January to December.
Step six: Add the ribbon to the sides after you are completely done with each month to attach them together!
As you can see, I used 3 different colors, all that matched with the front cover I had made. The covers were too bulky to keep them, so when I took it apart to scan it, I actually liked it a bit better. The ribbon I will use, will have all 3 of the colors in it, to tie the colors together! I hope you enjoy this little project...I have another one I am creating now, to share with you next week! With everything, please send me a picture or a link to what you are doing, especially if you use my stuff for inspiration! I would love to share the things YOU all make as well!
