Doing things on a budget..... As you read my posts, please keep in mind I have been able to scrapbook on what I have at home and available to me for almost 8 years now... I do not believe in spending money, especially when you CAN'T spend money! However, there are plenty of reasons TO create... Your photos, your memories, your stories...they are the reasons to get it done!
Look at ways you CAN save money, I have an article on Ezine Articles all about ways to save money...make sure you take a look at that! Look at purchases a bit differently, get basic supplies such as adhesive and cardstock when they are on sale.... Learn to shop at home first...then shop at the stores with a list of what you need. Oftentimes I make an exact list, and then switch it up when I get to the stores because I have found something I can use in place of!
One way to save money is by asking for things as a gift... Holidays, birthdays, anniversaries...and make sure you look at your coupons at different places such as Michaels and Joanns to save 40% off one thing. This really does save money in the long run by getting things you need throughout the year, instead of all in one shot. Or, learn to scrap and shop with a buddy...this way you might get one item and she might get another one so you can share! So, lets get started...
The first place I want to showcase this weekend is Scrapbook.com for their 12 days of Christmas event, ideas they have, their message board and more! Until Wednesday, use code TWP3498 to get 12% off your entire order! They have had wonderful sales lately...make sure to check them out!
Ok, what more can you say about Joann's except their prices! This week is no different! The Cricut Expressions machine is on sale for $199.99, which cuts 12 x 12 sheets of cardstock and paper! Plus they have Singer Simple sewing machine for $98.99 if you have been in the market for a simple machine! Cricut cartridges for $34.99 regularly $89.99... Scrapbooking storage is 40% off and a whole bunch more! Until 12/14 for online shopping only, get 50% off one item by using code EFD348, and free shipping code is EYD348, no minimum order but make sure you use by 12/13!!!
Make sure you check in on Better Homes and Gardens 100 days of Holidays for any kind of holiday cooking, decorating and more you are looking for! Great site all the way around, check back on the previous posts if you need really great ideas for gifts, decorating, baking, cooking and more!!!
Kristina's picks at Two Peas in a Bucket are always really neat...especially the papers that she chooses! This week, make sure you check out what she chose... plus check out other features of their site, such as their message board, gallery and more! The one thing I really like though is the Christmas album she made a few years ago...in which I shared with you all a few blogs ago. It is a great idea showcasing the entire month. Spend some time on Two Peas to check out the projects they have, something is sure to spark your creativity!
In my advanced supplies blog, I listed software as something you should start to look at if you have been doing this for a while... Make sure you check out Scrap and Paper shop for that reason alone! Their Font-a-holic's bundle is $37.99 and a collection of 5 CD's for you! I love CK Fonts....and CK books too, make sure you check out their excellent selection of sales and clearance items too! Right now they have a lot of neat bundles, just in time for Christmas!
Every year I guess the industry picks a "color of the year" and oh boy, do I love this years selection of color of the year...which is Honeysuckle, a reddish pink that is great for vintage pages, and goes great with this years color which is turquoise! I can't wait to see how they bring this color into the papers for 2011, can you!
What better way to save money by buying gift certificates at Paper Wishes until 12/23...get 10% off all the gift certificates you purchase! Give them to all of your scrapbooking buddies, or tell your spouse all about it by sending him the link to todays edition! This way, you can shop for stuff to create your Christmas pages on the wonderful after Christmas sales that will be sure to be going on! What a great way to shop!
Ok, thought I really like the Christmas idea that is shown here, how she did the album, the colors she used...but I especially liked how Brittany placed the items for each day! On her page one, she shows a whole page, from that point on, she might use a tag, or just a photo, or something else...which for me is totally unique and something I would NEVER have done...before seeing her album! Love the ideas you can get on Scrapbooks Etc. blog, you are certain to find something that will make you want to create, I am almost certain of it!
Scrapbooking does not have to take up all of your money and time...spend a little time here and there to get things done! One thing I will recommend, is take the time to create...whether you and your friends schedule a weekly or monthly event, or you go to a local store on their crop nights, you will truly learn a lot from others, not only in their creating, but also in life! Scrapbooking is truly wonderful for therapy reasons, and for the friendships you have with others. Have fun creating and shopping this week folks!
